What a f@cking melt. Ooo please stop having a go about our crap performances. It’s not nice when the man on telly tells us off, it makes us all feel sad
Harry, just an FYI we don’t need Alan Shearer to tell us how sh1t you have all played. We have had to sit through it for the last week!!
Now stop moaning like a little b1tch and play like we know you can.

As the England Captain, this is 100% the right thing to do. Stand up for your team mates and show some leadership.
Well done Hazza. You're spot on. Shearer, Ferdinand, Lumpard etc - even Lineker - these guys should know better.
It was noticeable listening to these experts moaning about Kane in particular in the week, saying he had to be replaced, and the only one defending him was the Brentford manager.
The best bit of the euros is that it’s outing all those on here who have really bad football opinions that I can foe. A complete lack of understanding of how top level football works or how basic leadership works, possibly because they weirdly have an agenda against England doing well in any football competition.
Hope we never get to the prem for a lot of the oldies blood pressure

I loved his little dig back at them. Mentioning all the many, many years of hurt, of which Lineker et al are fully complicit.

On the plus side, if we did make the Premiership, we'd almost certainly be made up of cheaper Championship standard journeymen, so would have to drop the tippy tappy ball retaining bollocks and could just lump it forward to a big guy with a little guy feeding off him.

I think people just want to see a bit of effort. Southgate says we arent fit enough to press, perhaps he should pick players who are fit or give some a rest against the mighty Slovenia.
You can't commit to a high press with Kane in your team, it's that simple. So the choice is to either get rid of Harry for a far inferior striker, or sit deeper when out of possession.

There's only two options? Do Bayern play this deep then?

Don't know about Bayern but would assume they don't. Look at the way Spurs play this season without Kane to prior seasons.
(This is not to say you never press high - even with England, there are times when we can do it, you'll see someone initiate it, usually Bellingham or Rice, and others follow in - you just can't do it as often).
Almost every player in our squad plays for a team that uses a high press...I find it incredible that we don't employ a system that the players are used. And how come we are so knackered that apparently we can't press but every other side can, including Portugal with Ronaldo
I don't buy the players are knackered line either.
We're not consistently high pressing because 1) we're playing Kane who can't do it and 2) we don't have the confidence in our back line to leave them 1 v 1. But understandably Southgate can't publicly state that.
If Kane plays then he puts him at 10, (but it should be Foden IMO) and Tony or Watkins on top, Palmer or Eze on the left. Drop Alexander Arnold either bench or replace Walker ( would prefer Walker to play). Midfield Mainoo and Gallagher to start give those poor tired athletes are rest. Center backs have been the only constant and would keep that and not change.
