Who are you supporting - Scotland v Germany?

Post by Scuba Diver »

It's The Jocks for me. I hope they get one over on the hosts.

Based on their league, they do fantastically well to qualify for tournaments, and their fans bring dollops of colour and good humour always.

C'mon the Scots.
I don't care if "some" of them hate the English and wouldn't support England ever. Those that do likely feel like that, don't like themselves either, so who cares. The rest is just bantz.

Be the better man, and support the Scotch underdogs to get one over the Jerries. I trust they'll put in a decent effort to avenge their English masters for past injustices in '90 and '96.

I like an underdog and who could back the Germans?

Scotland.
The idea that everyone wants the hosts to do well is a myth in football as much as the “nobody wants to see that” when there’s a fight on the pitch.
An early Germany wobble would be fun to see, and I genuinely want Scotland to do well. Mainly cos after seeing how excited they got over a 0-0 draw last time I’d be amazed how they are if they actually win a game

Got a couple of friends who are otherwise completely rational people but loathe the Scots and are backing Germany.

Seems inexplicable to me but there you go.

Their schtick is - “the jocks hate us. Why on Earth would you support them”?

For the first time in my life, Scotland. Think they will be steamrolled though

As Brazil are not in this tourney, for no apparent reason, I'm going to go with the Scotch Jocks. It's been a while since they PUMPED the Jerries.

I wouldn't mind either side winning. Scotland doing well would be a great story but I'd also quite like to see Germany do well in this tournament.

Scotland playing a bold 532, except it's 5 at the back, 3 defensive midfielders and 2 CMs.

Aaaaand it's 2. This could be a proper McShoeing.

Playing with no CDMs, that’s their problem.

I reckon they’ll keep it below double figures though.

Jolly good sport for the Scotch to give the European footballing community some proper entertainment in the tournament opener.

I prefer to see home nations do well so kinda feel a bit sorry for Scotland here, about as bad a first half performance as I've ever seen in tournament football 3-0 down and 10 men... ouch

Gunn has had a nightmare for the first and third goals

With head to head meaning more than goal difference to progress, Scotland should have their best players off now.
It's tournament football.

Probably should have done better for the first but this is harsh. Being beaten by a penalty is a mare?
