Re: Election Watch
Reform overtake the Tories in the last poll. Good. Just labour to go in 2-3 years and we can consign the current political system/parties to the bin forever.

Re: Election Watch
Yeah, a fascist dictatorship under Farage would be much better (that is somewhat tongue in cheek but it’s what some of the reform knobheads, and their pals, have said they’d like).

Re: Election Watch
If you think the current two party system is working I can’t help you. Farage is not a fascist, don’t be ridiculous. Yes, he is a populist but so what. It’s about time the popular opinion meant something in this country.

Re: Election Watch
I haven’t said the current 2 party system is working. Please don’t make sh*t up. If Farage isn’t a fascist then he’s certainly pals with a lot of them. A bit like the (very old and not in the best of taste) joke - “I’m not homosexual but my boyfriend is”.Beradogs wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 10:11 pmIf you think the current two party system is working I can’t help you. Re: Election Watch
I still think the turnout for the Tories will be much higher on the day. And that Reform UK will end up with one MP. But if they start consistently polling in the low 20s, then that could change.

Just had a little check up, seems people might think that because of all the links between Yougov and the Tory party.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 9:33 pmNot sure mate, I’ll wait for Survation to tell meHoover Attack wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 9:18 pmWhy on earth would anyone think that?Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 8:53 pm We spent 4 years hearing Yougov was Tory owned

Re: Election Watch
I think what Bastani is clumsily alluding to is the degree to which far right parties are succeeding in brand penetration to an increasing amount of younger people across Europe. We often think of right wing reactionaries as appealing to the old farts, but the data emerging from the recent European elections is that this is no longer the case.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 9:15 pm Says they could be on a wind-up, then in the next breath that they have "strong feelings" about him. Re: Election Watch
Damn, so Tories finishing third behind Reform, something no other polling company is predicting means it’s actually worse for them than expected? Because they’re Tory owned?Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 6:29 amJust had a little check up, seems people might think that because of all the links between Yougov and the Tory party.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 9:33 pmNot sure mate, I’ll wait for Survation to tell me

Re: Election Watch
I think what's really going on is that the Tory owned polling company is trying to scare Tory voters back into the fold by pretending Reform are ahead of them. A lot of Tories don't like Farage.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 1:20 pmDamn, so Tories finishing third behind Reform, something no other polling company is predicting means it’s actually worse for them than expected? Re: Election Watch
Hearing that large numbers of Reform postal votes being eliminated. As ballots being submitted unsigned.
Re: Election Watch
Interested to read that ex Labour MP Keith Vaz has finally been kicked out of the Labour Party, after announcing he is making a comeback for the "One Leicester" party in Leicester East and standing on July 4th.
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/ar ... ster-party
He'll be standing against another ex Labour MP Claudia Webbe, who was expelled from Labour after being convicted of harassment in 2021, as well as 8 other candidates. Neither are expected to win, with Labour candidate and multi-millionaire Rajesh Agrawal (parachuted in, ex London Deputy Mayor) predicted to take the seat.
