Totally.

The war in Ukraine is being overshadowed in the media by what is happening in Gaza, but they are connected (although, Ukraine is of greater consequence to the World).

China, Iran and Russia have a joint understanding. They're not allies, but they are united in a shared interest in becoming the hegemons in their respective regions. And that will almost certainly mean war. Lots of it.

And that's a good long-read article from The Guardian.

I am sending you both a copy of Barry McGuire's " Eve of Destruction ", maybe as relevant in 2024 as it was in 1965. Happy listening!

Yes, it was well written and thought provoking . It reminded me of what the German philosopher Georg Hegel said in the 18th century. " The only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history ". I think that's as true today as when he first said it .

Well, I'm pretty sure that 99.99% of people on earth would rather we didn't have any more wars, but we don't seem to get much say in the matter

It would help if everybody turned of their dammed phones and realized that Youtube, X and the internet are not the only things in the world.

I know that all the above are also sources of information but the narcissistic behavior of the majority of people beggars belief in my opinion.
