That didn’t last then. Wonder if he is going back cap in hand to LBC? Then again, I always thought he would be good on QT or Newsnight

Amazing how much potential support there is for Labour without the anti-semitic undercurrent.

^ If that poll is even remotely true, my life will become unbearable. I'll end up spending more time dealing with QUANGOs, scrutiny committees, unconscious bias training, diversity awareness courses etc than the day job.

The legions of silent Tories out there will ensure it's not that big a landslide.

Yeah, I keep reminding myself of the shy Tory vote. But apparently, an Opinium poll due to be released this evening, will either corroborate the above or suggest things are even worse for the Tories.

It will be entertaining to see how the party reacts. How does Sunak survive until 4 July?

Surely at this point any new leader would do better. I don’t think Jesus himself coming back and leading the tories would win but it would convince enough people to vote Tory that they might have a chance in the election after this

I agree. But who would want to take over at this point? Anyone with serious longer term ambitions would be better off waiting until after the election so that they're not forever associated with what could be their most humiliating defeat ever.

That MRP is incredible and way way ahead of what Labour could even dream of earlier in the week

Letting Abbot stand in Hackney has been a game changing master stroke by the NEC

A big year for democracy. And the ANC has finally lost its majority in the South African elections.

My old comrade Nimrod Sejake predicted as much some 40 years ago. He would take no comfort from his prophecy coming true but will be turning in his grave.

But how pathetic is it to blame their position on Sunak alone and put to one side just how utterly terrible and corrupt this last 14 years has been. I know the British public has typically got the memory of a goldfish but I doubt that the electorate will completely forget the feck ups.

Indeed. Clearly Starmer's handling of Abbott et al has been a "disaster."

Probably a reaction to Starmer caving in to Abbots demands. Voters like a leader who listens to the people and who is big enough to change their mind when they get things so badly wrong.
