Tripling down on the base of old people, trying to maximise turnout amongst them. Smart move
Expect to see some scare tactics targeting Labour through a pensioner prism soon enough

Re: Election Watch
National Service only ran for 14 years between 1949 & 1963 and those alive now who did it will be over 80
Everyone hated it, those that had to do it, the services they were in and it was expensive
The only reason the Tories are thinking of bringing it back is because they haven't got any other ideas
Along with hanging, mentioned above, corporal punishment and smacking kids won't be far behind

Tories hurtling towards the General Election like lemmings over a cliff. I'm beginning to wonder if the Liberals will form the main opposition.

If national service is brought in, I just hope I'm just above the maximum age limit.

Re: Election Watch
Former European Research Group chairman and current Northern Ireland Minister Steve Baker has decided to campaign from Greece as he doesn’t want to cancel his holiday
Guess he’s given up as well but is too arrogant to relinquish his seat

It’s a kid of incompetent thick of it characters sitting round a table brainstorming how to appeal to some of the knuckle draggers who have gone over to Reform, who think everything was better in the 50s and that ‘kids today blah blah’.
Indeed desperate stuff. It’s scary this lot are actually in power today

Yep. There’ll be more yet. I have a bet with a mate that Capital Punishment will get an airing during this campaign.

Can't see that being a vote winner for anyone, even if we're encouraging the use of public transport you'll need a load more than that.

Is this another case of “they don’t know what’s best for them” snobbery?
