Re: Labour Watch
Media working overtime to try to embarrass. Spending very many minutes grilling Labour people on what is a Socialist? Yeah that's really important to the Electorate innit? Then the pundits have this sudden concern for Diane Abbott's welfare, when they have spent most of their time trivialising her. Still it all takes the limelight away from the Tories pecadillos ( mind you some of them are much greater sinners ). Then we have the pseudo left wingers on here, doing their bit for the Tories too.

So? If he thinks he's right to expel her then he should be confident his chosen replacement would beat her in the marketplace of ideas, same as is happening in Islington North.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 12:29 pm If he expels her she might stand against Labour.

Re: Labour Watch
What argument have I lost, pray tell? You've not actually responded to the issue raised, or otherwise simply confirmed that you have no problem with Starmer lying to the media (and the electorate), so it's hard to see how you think you have "won" anything here. What a silly post.Friend or faux wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 2:53 pm PJ:-What a silly post from a very silly Boarder.

PJ keep your silly school playground stuff for the school playground.
More importantly: The Manchester Ole Bill are reporting they have nothing of any consequence on Angela Rayner ( now there's a surprise ).

Prospective PMs lying is playground stuff, is it? Have you said the same about the Tories, out of interest?Friend or faux wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 3:58 pm PJ keep your silly school playground stuff for the school playground.

Re: Labour Watch
His response when asked if Abbott's case was resolved and would she have the whip returned has always been something along the lines of claiming her case was still ongoing via internal independent processes which SKS couldn't comment on.
It's now being reported that this process finished 5 months ago and she was given a formal warning and had to complete an online anti semitism course (which she apparently did in Feb).
Which of course begs the question as to why she's not had the whip returned (particularly when other MP's have for other offences). I think everyone can have a reasonable guess why she's not had it returned but if the reports are correct then Starmer looks more than a little dishonest.
Regardless of your political leanings, it's not a good look for the likely next PM.

Hard to argue with this. Although I'm sure there's plenty of centerist dad's who'll come up with some mental gymnastics to provide a reason for it.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 12:06 pm Then have the balls to expel her rather than hiding behind an "ongoing" process he knows full well has finished months ago. The BBC understands Abbott has been readmitted to the party
She had been suspended after suggesting in April last year that Jewish, Irish and Traveller people do not face racism "all their lives"

Re: Labour Watch
Amazingly enough they’ve let her back in after the leak.
But still to be confirmed that she can’t stand.
