37 wickets in 2 days - wasn't that long ago Somerset were preparing spinner's wickets. Our second innings was rather poor. Yes it was a bowlers' wicket but some of our batters were out to poor shots eg Elgar - 10 runs for the whole match. Top until next weekend, be great if Surrey lose.

I think Somerset got caught out by the weather. I don't think they were able to fully prepare the pitch and take off as much grass as they normally would. But you comment about our batters is spot on, some very ugly dismissals. Still overall a promising start to the season.

Terrific opportunity for Essex to finish this half of the championship only 1 point behind Surrey - and 2 matches to play against Surrey. Not easy to take wickets but if Agar isn't going to bat Essex need a further 14 wickets. Weather looks good tomorrow - here's hoping.

Kent are proving remarkably obdurate against the pace and spin of the Essex bowlers. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

How can you have an "investigation" into the bat incident? It was either too wide or it wasn't! Why do sporting authorities take so long to deal with these issues? It's pathetic really.

Baffled why Elgar is I the T20 line up it’s not his game and not why we brought him here and don’t even start me on Adam Rossington, what a waste of three years money, better off letting Pepper or Cox keep and play Kushi or Thain.
