No, winning the league has to be top priority every season for a club like them. Job done.

You think winning the Premier league is comparable to winning a cup?

Not sure I agree 100% with the above. He is a world class manager, there is no doubt, and yes agreed having a bottomless pit of cash is a huge help.

What I would like to see is Pep manage a team that is down on their luck and have limited budget and see what he can do on a two year contract. Obviously this would never happen.

Wonder how he would get on managing Leyton Orient or similar level of team with limited budget to work on ?
Not so good I would guess.

Changed the way football is played from international to grassroots level. Won everything. Manages to keep a huge squad of world class players with world class egos happy.

Yeah, he’s overrated.

True, he changed it and in the process at City, he's won everything.
At the same time he's bored most of us sh--less with the brand of football.

Very Overrated..

Endless pot of money at all his clubs he’s
managed, don’t agree with him keeping
all he’s squad happy ..Grealish now practically
a bit part player, Philips either injured or
loaned out Nunez ( think that’s his name
from Wolves) barely plays ..
When he complained after the semi
final v Chelsea moaning having to play in
Europe midweek and than play a cup
game on the Saturday..
As Shearer rightly said “ you’ve got a
large squad you could have rotated “
to which pep had no reply ..
Yesterday bbc pundits saying he’s different
gravy in that he’s got a brilliant centre
half and playing him at left back, we’ll that
didn’t work out to well for the 1st goal
yesterday did it ..
Endless pundits going on about how he’s
reinvented the game just to keep him
sweet ..
Shankley, Busby, Paisley, Fergie and
Cloughie to name a few have been
reinventing the game long before
the money men come into the game ..

Yet despite still having "endless pots" of money, Bayern not even close for the Bundesliga title this year. About 18pts behind in fact. Didn't happen under Pep's watch, did it.
Grealish is a bit-part player because he was never as good as people thought he was. Should Pep just play him despite this?
Ditto Phillips- off-form for 3 years. Is that Pep's fault? He (Phillips) been crap at West Ham too. Is that Pep's fault?

Recent "net spend" (at City) smaller than Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and even Newcastle. So City have spent the 6th least and still come out on top. Pep is either doing something right or very very lucky indeed.

Of those you've list as superior, Fergie used to buy the title in the way you've incorrectly accused Pep of doing based on the finances; year after year hoovering up the best players, and got lucky with a crop of youth United will never see the likes of again.

He did "invent" hardline intimidation of referees and cheating for extra minutes though, so moved the game on in that way. He was also graceless in defeat and victory.
Not saying he wasn't a good manager but he hardly moved the game on in a positive sense.

Agree the last two paragraphs, especially.
Grealish of course is a good player but he is, also, what I would call, a one trick pony.

Don’t remember stating that “ Fergie was
superior” to Pep but I’ll read my notes again
to clarify..
And as for graceless in defeat did you see
Pep’s post match interview with Kelly
Sommerton on the BBC pretending he didn’t
understand the question and then just giving
one word answers ..very graceful in defeat .
Fergie could rely on the class of 92 for the
base of his side and snap up bargains like
Cantona (1.5 million) when no one would
take a chance ..

''Grealish of course is a good player but he is, also, what I would call, a one trick pony''
At Villa, Grealish was given more of a free role and able to take on the fullback right down the touchline and put the ball cross or cut inside, where as at City it seems the same old ''one trick pony'' move of of mainly going down the wing then keeping City in possession of the ball by passing it square or backwards. Same thing applies when playing for England under Gareth Southgate.

I know what you're saying Sid, but he still counts as a one trick pony in my book. This, by the way, is not to say I don't rate him as a player. But take, for example, the present wide player at city, Doku. He has all the skills but he also has that little bit more of the unexpected about his play. Whereas Grealish is much more predictable, even when he was at Villa.

Doku doesn’t seem to mind going past players.

Net spend and actual spending are not the same.

Yes. Only the 3 league titles to go with the 2 German cups, a UEFA Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup

Wish Orient could sign some failures.
