Football Managers
As fans, we crave success, but if our team is successful, you can guarantee we'll lose our manager
Been reading, Chelsea are speaking to Enzo Maresca, who guided the Foxes to the champonship top spot. Looks like the'll lose him, and all their plans will be shot to pieces, as a new team in the Premier League, having to find a new manager
Hearing Manchester United are look at Keiren McKenna of Ipswich, as their manager for next season, if not them, some other team will steal him from the Tractor boys, and another load of fans will be heartbroken
This happens every year around this time.....the rich clubs steal the lower clubs manager ( they dont actually 'steal' them, they pay compo, but you know what i mean)
I remember many years ago, Glenn Hoddle got Swindon promoted via the play-offs, to the Premier league. I said to my son, " look how happy the fans are, but they'll not be happy in a few weeks when hes gone", and sure enough he went a few weeks later, and Swindon were relegated at seasons end
Make no mistake, if we were successful next season, ie promoted, Richie would be gone within 6 weeks, to some club in the Championship

Re: Football Managers
As LSN said, this is nothing new, it's just it happens much more frequently now clubs change manager every 5 minutes.

People will always warm to an old duffer reading out misprints from national newspapers

Re: Football Managers
Of course. We are more likely to get a better manager in the Championship than League One I would think. We can’t be frightened of success. Otherwise what’s the point.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2024 12:44 pmReally?
Even though we might end up with a duff manager?
