Hector gets a new contract offer
Posh offering a new contract on improved terms, while he will still be wanted by other clubs a new contract will push up his value, good for us if/when he moves on.

Posh should have sold him for £4million because now he can leave for nothing .Top of the JES wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 10:54 pm Posh offering a new contract on improved terms, while he will still be wanted by other clubs a new contract will push up his value, good for us if/when he moves on.

He can't leave for nothing he's under contract until summer 2025, he's likely to accept the improved contract.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 11:02 pmPosh should have sold him for £4million because now he can leave for nothing .Top of the JES wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 10:54 pm Posh offering a new contract on improved terms, while he will still be wanted by other clubs a new contract will push up his value, good for us if/when he moves on.

Glad to see that Hector is so appreciated at Peterborough United, far more so than when he was at the Os, many on this forum were overjoyed when we sold him on.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 10:54 pm Posh offering a new contract on improved terms, while he will still be wanted by other clubs a new contract will push up his value, good for us if/when he moves on.

Re: Hector gets a new contract offer
Good to see Hector progressing.
I see a lot of Posh - my second team as son supports them - and clearly Fergie has developed what he saw as the potential in Hector and has got him amongst the goals this season too.

It helped finance our promotion, so worth a lot more than that. I reckon he’ll take a move over the summer. Should be playing at a higher level now.

Posh have such a great record of improving players year on year. It really is quite astounding.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 8:37 amGlad to see that Hector is so appreciated at Peterborough United, far more so than when he was at the Os, many on this forum were overjoyed when we sold him on.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 10:54 pm Posh offering a new contract on improved terms, while he will still be wanted by other clubs a new contract will push up his value, good for us if/when he moves on.

Re: Hector gets a new contract offer
Also tbf his performances here were generally pretty average. One might put that down to the distinctly underwhelming coaching he was receiving at the time, which will have been holding him back. Thankfully for him, others could see his potential.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 10:08 amCos most of our fans don’t know much about footballRubex Kube wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 8:59 amMost People I know were in shock we got £300 grand for him.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 8:37 am

We’ve got a decent sell-on fee too apparently so hopefully a Championship side overpays for him one day

Re: Hector gets a new contract offer
I was sad we sold such a good prospect of a young player for such a small fee, but turned out it was a great move for Hector, seems like the Posh have a great record when it comes to developing the skills of young players, more so than many other football clubs.Rubex Kube wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 8:59 amMost People I know were in shock we got £300 grand for him.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 8:37 amGlad to see that Hector is so appreciated at Peterborough United, far more so than when he was at the Os, many on this forum were overjoyed when we sold him on.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 10:54 pm Posh offering a new contract on improved terms, while he will still be wanted by other clubs a new contract will push up his value, good for us if/when he moves on.

I was one of them. I thought he was bang average when he played for us. It pained me to see a 38 year old Pratley do his running for him.Rubex Kube wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 8:59 amMost People I know were in shock we got £300 grand for him.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 8:37 amGlad to see that Hector is so appreciated at Peterborough United, far more so than when he was at the Os, many on this forum were overjoyed when we sold him on.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 10:54 pm Posh offering a new contract on improved terms, while he will still be wanted by other clubs a new contract will push up his value, good for us if/when he moves on.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. He is still a League One player and to my knowledge has won nothing. That said I wish him well and hope he pushes on to the next level. I’m still not convinced.

I'd say because the move & fee came from nowhere, very little to do with football knowledgeRich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 10:08 amCos most of our fans don’t know much about footballRubex Kube wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 8:59 amMost People I know were in shock we got £300 grand for him.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 8:37 am

Agree but I think it was clear to anyone who knows football he had loads of potential. Watford were willing to pay £4 million for him in January and got knocked back by POSH. His playing style reminds me of John Lundstram - similar on-field position, too. Now he has had a fairly stellar career.
