Travis interview
Not the most interesting ever but some decent snippets about budget (going up about 10%) and a direct question about Coley Parry (we haven’t got anything to worry about…apparently…) only half an hour

One of them looked like Dean Cox and one ate sandwiches. It was the better podcast

Coming into them all cold, my suspicion is it’d be easier to make the best orient podcast than the worst

Re: Travis interview
We took the approach of burning out and then fading away after making about 40 episodes. Can’t believe some are still going 200 eps in

Season tickets up 5% and a new tv deal in place creating extra revenue but the budget only up 10%
Lovely stuff.

Re: Travis interview
Guess the hunt for new investment is going quite slowly then, particularly if we're circling the wagons around Parry.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2024 5:55 pm Season tickets up 5% and a new tv deal in place creating extra revenue but the budget only up 10%

Interesting that he talks to Richie after every game and that they are all going in a retreat next week to talk business.

10% I think is a very decent increase. Nearly as much as train drivers wageBiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2024 5:55 pm Season tickets up 5% and a new tv deal in place creating extra revenue but the budget only up 10%

Re: Travis interview
Nige neatly swerved the Coley Parry situation.
We all know he made an investment into LO, that’s not in question.
What is in question is is he able to fund his share of the annual losses as an 18% shareholder? Ie stump up for 18% of the losses?
That’s the real question.

Re: Travis interview
Red flag talking about not being able to get a ticket for less than $200 (which is bollocks btw). Can see some steep increases going forwardBiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2024 5:55 pm Season tickets up 5% and a new tv deal in place creating extra revenue but the budget only up 10%

Re: Travis interview
Apparently he said that in Boston you can’t see any entertainment for under 200 dollars, as a kind of “therefore chill your mittens about price rises, c***s, you don’t know you’re born”

Re: Travis interview
There's a consistent theme across American investment in British sport where they think we massively underpay for the 'product' compared to what they can charge in the states and could be fleeced for much more. There's a reason so many dollars are pouring into English football at the moment, the exchange rate has become very favourable to yanks and they smell an opportunity to make a lot of money out of a league they think is still commercially underperforming compared to what it could be.
I think Travis and Teague broadly 'get' the club, but the other owners are almost certainly going to be a lot more hard headed about getting an eventual return on investment and minimizing losses in the meantime. Think that tension will probably be easy ish to ignore until the question of a new ground really comes to a head. That's going to be an incredible amount of their money gambled on the chance that it takes us up a level and makes us more attractive to sell, or more capable of a tilt at the prem in the distant future.

Is that really the case? Or is it just that he’s out of touch with the ordinary man?

Celtics and Bruins will be less than $200 for a regular season game too in certain parts of the arena. Probably Patriots too.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2024 10:13 am Boston Red Sox tickets are on sale for $18 though
