The whole performance stank up the house and that's what the vote reflected.
I don't think it was homophobic, after all a man in a skirt won it.

Zero points from the public. It wasn't terrible, but it had nothing great about it either.

There’s a difference between a man in a skirt and men thrusting their codpieces into other men’s faces.

The winner is non binary, so the audience was ok with that.

What has that got to do with homophobia?

As woke as we are these days, people still can’t handle seeing proper man on man action.

You can see why some people think it’s fixed with a set of results like that.

The judges vs public vote is an allegory of autocracy vs democracy.

Would genuinely love to hear the hypothesis of how the judge and public votes were rigged to ensure that…um, Switzerland….won the event this time. And what the motivations and who the big players are in the whole scam.

Looking back at those results analysis – who gave whom the maximum twelve points …..

So fifteen countries – the popular vote across Europe – thought Israel had the best song; one country thought Switzerland had the best song ……. yet Switzerland win it, purely down to the individual juries of a handful or people across the nations preferring Switzerland. What a complete farce.

For my money I’d have probably gone Israel first and Croatia second, which seems to tie in with these results. I remember in recent years Norway winning the public vote by a streak, but because they didn’t fare so well with the ‘juries’ they only managed about third, thought then this is just plain daft and unfair.

Have never quite got my head around the votes from (say) San Marino counting for as much as (say) Germany, talk about distorted democracy.

Time to pull the plug on the competition in my humble opinion.

Do you honestly think all the people that voted for the Israeli song were doing so because they thought it was the best song? Bless.

Like the idea of some votes being worth more than others based on size/power/wealth. :D

Yeah, that's fair. But then you could also argue that the absence of jury votes for the Israeli song was suss too. It definitely wasn't the best song, but it was in the top 6.

As I said, autocracy vs democracy.

BTW, personally, I think this year's controversy has added an extra layer of spice to the competition. I'd therfore like to see some of the other competitors do some war before next year's final.
