Re: Starman Awards
The vetting of these interviews is crackers, would have thought after Wellens had a full public dust up with the board and Ling in January that they'd have given whoever runs our media strong steer to not include bits from interviews that basically give away that the manager might be gone.

Re: Starman Awards
As I said earlier, the fact MH thought it ok to mention it in the interview, and the interviewee/media team thought it ok to leave it in there, would mean it's common knowledge within the club that there's an issue.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 9:48 am The vetting of these interviews is crackers, would have thought after Wellens had a full public dust up with the board and Ling in January that they'd have given whoever runs our media strong steer to not include bits from interviews that basically give away that the manager might be gone.

Re: Starman Awards
Right, but from a communications perspective, that's incredibly incompetent if it's not going to be formally addressed. They are in the middle of their biggest revenue period of the year with season ticket sales, putting out hints that the popular manager might be off almost as an afterthought is bizarre.

Don't recall seeing this neckless in the jewellery section of the Argos catalogue.

Re: Starman Awards
Let’s just say that if Orient are looking for someone amenable to following orders exactly after Wellens goes, they could do worse than this guy

Re: Starman Awards
Manager betting is such a small market that the £300 Conkles has just put on it has driven the odds right down

Re: Starman Awards
It was only £100.
Do I still get the 8/1 at the time I placed the bet or does it change to the current odds? I'm new to this gambling malarkey.

It operates on a trust system, so if you go in and tell the bookie what the bet was and how much you will have won, they’ll hand it over to you, no questions asked

Best way to put these RW rumours to bed will be if it gets posted up on TC9 Twitter / X account then we'll know it's BS

Re: Starman Awards
Russell Slade left Orient 3 places higher than when he arrived with no promotions.
Richie Wellens finished the season 31 places higher than when he arrived, plus a League title last season.
Richie Wellens has a higher points per match record than Russell Slade achieved.
That all said Russell Slade was a great manager for Orient.

Difficult to argue with any of that.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 2:10 pmRussell Slade left Orient 3 places higher than when he arrived with no promotions.

Apart from the leaving us 3 places higher than when he found us - can we really count his last few months working for that ?Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 2:34 pmDifficult to argue with any of that.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 2:10 pmRussell Slade left Orient 3 places higher than when he arrived with no promotions.

Also, let's compare their Cup record.
And the levels they were managing at. The majority of Wellens' time here has been at a lower level than Slade. In all their completed seasons in League One, Slade finished lower than Wellens once, and higher three times.
All that said, Wellens has been a great manager for Orient.
