Re: Coley Parry, LO director, & Vitesse
I thought you meant they'd been denied a licence for next season, didn't realise they've actually gone through almost the whole of 23/24 without appearing to actually have one (as this article implies). Bonkers.

I hope he enjoyed the warm round of applause he received from the fans on Saturday during his lap of honour.

Re: Coley Parry, LO director, & Vitesse
Probably. Most people at Orient* are oblivious.
If it helps any, while he poses an existential risk to Vitesse and possibly to Patro, that's not the case at Orient where he remains a minority shareholder.
EDIT: *by this I mean the supporters - I would expect most of the board to be aware by now.

He still has a significant holding.
I'm genuinely surprised the club paraded him around the pitch at the weekend as if nothing is happening elsewhere.

Yeah, me too, although God knows what version of events he's giving them. And if the cheque he signed at the beginning of the season didn't bounce, they could hardly tell him to stay away. Has the potential to be embarrassing though, so you'd expect they're already prepping their lines.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 1:10 pmPer info above, they're all minority shareholders.

No risk at all until he uses his Orient shares as collateral to buy other clubs.Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 1:12 pm No risk to Orient. Stop stirring. He put his cash in & got shares. Club has his dosh

The next round of funding deals with that. If he does not put in any money to that his holding in Orient shrinks.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 1:28 pmWhat happens when he has to find 20% of next years operating loss???Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 1:12 pm No risk to Orient. Well they are paid for so what is the issue. I doubt if anyone would accept Orient shares as collateral. Anyone sensible would ask for a bank guaranteeBiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 1:41 pmNo risk at all until he uses his Orient shares as collateral to buy other clubs.Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 1:12 pm No risk to Orient. What happens if further funding isn't found and the existing shareholders have to fund the losses?LittleMate wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 1:54 pmThe next round of funding deals with that. Still amazes me that we literally almost went bust 7 years ago and people are still not wary of dodgy investors.

It is astounding isn't it? One look at where Vitesse are right now should really focus people's minds.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 5:02 pm Still amazes me that we literally almost went bust 7 years ago and people are still not wary of dodgy investors.
That said, I think some of "shut up and stop causing trouble" mentality is actually coming from that same fragility. Like, any discussion of these issues is just too frightening to even contemplate.

But what if they haven’t got the funds, as seems to be the case???

Re: Coley Parry, LO director, & Vitesse
Which he obviously doesn’t have, hence what’s going on at other clubs. Is he free to sell his stake at Orient to whoever he wants? A quick google shows shares can be used to secure a loan. Still no risk to you?Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 2:02 pmWell they are paid for so what is the issue. I doubt if anyone would accept Orient shares as collateral. It is absolutely insane how many Orient fans are turning a blind eye to all this. Nigel needs to to release a statement explaining why Orient aren’t at risk.

If you were a regulatory body asking for proof of funds and...didn't receive any, you could probably make an educated guess.
