What is Starmer's real plan?
In 2023 he made it known that under his leadership the Tories' 2 child benefit cap would continue ...
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... enefit-cap
but now he is talking about promoting EVERY child's interests by trying to align himself with the positives represented by Doreen Lawrence ....
https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/ ... s-32636273
But she seems to think that he is 'not listening to her' ....
https://www.voice-online.co.uk/opinion/ ... or-labour/
What should we expect to happen under his leadership?

Seriously wonder about some Boarders wasting their energy knocking Labour, when we have the biggest chumps in a corrupt Government in charge of the UK. Still the Boarders in question, are: Proposition Joe & E10EU . Say no more!

He's been through the WEF young global leaders program so anything his overlords tell him like Agenda 2030 for instance. It still amazes me how anyone thinks that any politician at all cares about you.

Re: What is Starmer's real plan?
His real plan is to win a General Election. It really is as simple as that. I don't think that anyone is thinking much beyond that point right now.
He is showing what it truly takes to win power, and some people seem to be surprised and disappointed by that as if it's news to them.
Assuming he does win, then the Labour party machinery will kick into gear, with all that entails. You'll get some policies that make things less sh*t, possibly a few really good domestic policies, as well as lots of nonsense stuff and counterproductive meddling. But there will be no substantial shift in the general socio-economic framework and direction of travel.

The best we can hope for is for things to be slightly less sh*t. If only there was another way.

We've done this before, lots of times. There is literally no other way we could organise ourselves as a society, hence my comment above and the sad face emoji.

What about maybe giving out free Jelly Babies on a Friday? Admittedly, they ain't as good as they used to be ( they are just a blob that doesn't even look like a baby and are covered in white gunk) but it still might raise morale a bit

Sums up society today.
There are homeless war veterans that need housing, yet you'd rather dish out jelly babies to all and sundry?

Are you suggesting the distribution of these below par jelly babies should be means tested? If you are that's a dangerous road to go down.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 11:34 amSums up society today.

Exactly . No matter who's in government we get shifted . Labour and the Tories are two cheeks of the same arse .Mickys Bullock wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 8:58 am He's been through the WEF young global leaders program so anything his overlords tell him like Agenda 2030 for instance. Re: What is Starmer's real plan?
Nor will I. 95% of the electorate have some fairly forthright views but because of our ridiculous voting system it’s the 5% of swing voters and centrists that decide every election ergo every political party “wins” by effectively having zero conviction about anything.

If only the country didn't overwhelmingly turn down electoral reform in 2011.

Re: What is Starmer's real plan?
I wonder if one of the MBs political experts, perhaps Dunnem, has a theory as to why 2/3s of people would vote against reform?Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 11:19 am If only the country didn't overwhelmingly turn down electoral reform in 2011.

Do you remember how good it felt in Blair's Landslide in '97 and "Things can only get Better!" ?
