Men want clothes that make them look fatter is a claim I hadn't expected to see.

You manage it every time by being unnecessarily verbose.

Brevity should be applauded.

Being stalked by a cured meat is certainly novel.

I suspect they're a long way from being cured.

Looks like women do not like being watched.

Havent seen the videos but I guess they are filmed for perverted reasons. Although this would be different to things like upskirting as they're just out in public?

I’m not sure what this means:

“It’s not illegal to film someone in public, but if it’s causing distress it could be considered criminal”

Makes sense to me.

Its the comments that are distressing them? They dont want to be leered at by undesirables?

But that’s not what the story says

Obviously the women don’t want to be leered at, and clearly we need better laws that are fit for purpose at a time when everyone has a video camera in their pocket.

But I don’t think that a legal activity can become illegal if someone finds it distressing.

It *could* become illegal if a specific individual is targeted, but “it’s legal to film in a public space, unless the people in that space don’t like the way people talk about the footage” isn’t something that would seem likely to get anywhere.

If you distress someone by posting a video online, then it could be considered criminal.

Assuming somebody becomes distressed, is it the act of posting the video that becomes a criminal offence, or those posting nasty remarks? Would the intent of the video maker be relevant and, if so, how would you go about proving their intent?

It's obvious (to me) that the video was taken with the intention of being posted in a "ha ha, look at these trollops" manner. But, unless it is targeting an individual, that is perfectly legal, if not morally repugnant.

But the person recording the footage knows what it will be used for and the result.

But ridicule of a group of non specific people isn’t currently a crime

You could prove it by looking at comments on previous videos, maybe any tags they've set and if they've been uploaded to any adult sites.

But then those responsible for these videos will just take more care to avoid doing anything that would incriminate themselves, and ensure a degree of separation between them and any third-party action (comments, secondary uploads to porn sites etc).
