14 sixes and 7 fours, 112 in boundaries. Some innings, who said he was rubbish?
Said he was hit and miss. He hasn't got a great record in South Africa but fair play to him tonight. He has certainly enjoyed batting on our postage stamp of a ground.
I have just looked him up and he is now a specialist T20 player and he is not short of clubs to play for. Fair play to Surrey, they gave it a go chasing a big total. Four hundred runs in 30 overs was great value for money for the crowd.
Essex all out for 114 and then bowl Kent out for 40, unbelievable stuff. They need to get their heads down and knock off the 153 required to win the match as Somerset are not doing too well.
Listening on BBC - can't believe what I'm hearing - what a match. Hopefully we can see decent scores from Cook, Westley and Lawrence. The pitch doesn't seem to be too difficult, but the mindsets seem to be a different matter!
What a remarkable match! Couldn't bear to listen to the last 50 runs being scored. Well done Essex - that might just be the match that settles the championship.
Taunton born O here, living in London since 1990. Spent every summer watching the likes of Botham, Richards and Garner.
I'll be wanting a Somerset win, for five reasons.
1. Was born there.
2. Never won the county championship.
3. Should have won it in 2010 but lost it on games won.
4. Should have won it 2015 but were cheated out of it by Middlesex who contrived a dodgy result in their last game.
5. They are on for the domestic treble.
Yes went last night played really well - been unlucky with washouts so you never know - the Championship is the key will prob come down to us Vs Somerset !
