Sam Smith
As well as making a cheeky bid for El Miz, wonder if we could get Sam Smith on the cheap from Reading. He signed on a free last season so I don’t know what contract he’s on ( why he signed for them??) seeing that Reading are having a garage sale at the moment,he would be an excellent choice. Started banging in the goals lately after being out injured, however not sure how much he would cost but I’d have him in a heart beat. ( not the singer )

Re: Sam Smith
Cambridge offered him the most they'd ever offered a player and he found it easy to turn down in favour of Reading - who gave him a 3 year deal. They would want £££ for him so that would make it a non-starter.
As for El Miz, we have more chance of signing Sam Smith!

Re: Sam Smith
I think we stand an outside chance with El Miz plus how about swapping Pigott and a bag of balls for Smith or pay off his contract? He can’t be happy there?LittleMate wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 1:09 pm Cambridge offered him the most they'd ever offered a player and he found it easy to turn down in favour of Reading - who gave him a 3 year deal. Reading would probably keep the balls and return Pigott!Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 1:25 pmI think we stand an outside chance with El Miz plus how about swapping Pigott and a bag of balls for Smith or pay off his contract? Re: Sam Smith
If you read my posts last year I said we should try for Smith, as for Armstrong I’d still take him. He’s playing in a poor side and low on confidence. In the right team he will score goals.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 1:35 pmI see you moved on from wonderboy Luke Armstrong then.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 12:41 pm As well as making a cheeky bid for El Miz, wonder if we could get Sam Smith on the cheap from Reading. Re: Sam Smith
I think Sam Smith would be beyond our budget wage wise, as written elsewhere Cambridge made him a good offer to stay last summer but Reading made him one of their highest earners. We also are not going to be able to match their valuation of him - he's an asset and worth a few bob even if they are struggling.

Yes I know it is a long shot but seeing what trouble there in thought we could get him on the cheap. If we had him up front and also managed to get El MizTop of the JES wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 11:17 am I think Sam Smith would be beyond our budget wage wise, as written elsewhere Cambridge made him a good offer to stay last summer but Reading made him one of their highest earners.
