Leyton Orient Doubles - 2-1 up with 6 to play

Post by ContrifibulatoryFred »

The Os have thus far managed to do the double over two teams this season (Carlisle and Cambridge)
To our great credit we have avoided suffering the same fate yet.
With just 7 games left we still have a good chance of adding to our 'doubles' count. However, there remain a few opportunities left via teams who have already beaten us in our first meeting.

Our win opportunites (3)
Cheltenham (h)
Exeter (h)
Shrewbury (a)

Our loss opportunities (3)
Lincoln (a)
Derby (a)
Fleetwood (h)

We drew away at Peterborough so they are out of the equation

if we manage to get through the season without having the double inflicted on us, this would be a massive achievement for Richie and the boys.
To come up a division and take points from almost everyone (so far) is very creditable especially in the light of our misfortune with injuries and depleted squad.

I reckon we'll take at least two of those win opportunities, but lose to Derby and Lincoln.

Lincoln won't count if we lose, not really.

Lincoln are in red hot form at the moment so I’m glad our players have a two week break before we play them. It gives us a chance to rest some tired legs.

I think we could get a draw at Lincoln - the international break might just reduce their momentum. With Posh on Easter Monday - a re-run of the 2014 playoff semi-final would be amazing - the 4 points keeping it interesting into April.
