How many bkocked shots from Strikers & Midfielders
Blocked today ? Do they not have the ability to lift a ball off of the floor & chip it in the top corner .

Every blocked shot was driven hard & low.
Stop panicking & lift the ball a couple of foot off the ground.

Seem to remember a few shots late on lifted nicely straight into their keepers arms, or in Gorman's case way over the bar!

On another day we would have scored two or three with that many shots, but luck and bad finishing was against us today.

Trouble is, against better teams who attack us, we'll find ourselves 2-0 down before we've even created 1 chance.

That stat is being quoted so much on social media but of that how many were actually decent goalscoring opportunities?

I remember three...

1) Brophy arriving in the box and shooting first time from a ball inside by Long. Keeper saves down low.

2) The double chance when I think it was Wilkinson cut inside the box but shoots at the keeper, ball pops out and Angol shoots again middle of goal with keeper still on the floor, who makes the second save

3) Gorman shot from distance that keeper saved but had to be alert for

The rest all either blocked, tame catches for the keeper or high wide and not very handsome.

1st half 2 shots straight at there defender
A couple before cuthbert went off & 2 down the other end 2nd half.

We need a leader on the pitch to calm heads

For sure early days and signs of improvement. a win, draw and loss from our first 3. I suspect the hierarchy will see this as satisfactory especially the 23 shots stat. Good enough for mid table.
