Re: Pigott starts tonight
6 passes in first half from Pigott
We are terrible when we have to dictate play
Way way too negative - so I don’t wish to single Pigott out even though I do think he’s crap.
Sorry Wellens but its cackball

Re: Pigott starts tonight
He was no worse than anyone else, which ain’t saying much.
Tbf first start for a while, might as well see what he can do before we see if we can offload him end of season.

Re: Pigott starts tonight
He literally did nothing. I just don’t get what he brings. He isn’t good in the air, he can’t hold it up, he’s weak in front of goal and isn’t athletic enough to press

Re: Pigott starts tonight
He’s done little to impress me since he joined but I thought he did ok tonight. He did put himself about and won some headers and he closed down particularly first half. Granted he wasn’t amazing but to be fair to the lad I don’t think he got one pass to his feet or a crossed ball anywhere near him.
I can’t see the point on digging him out tonight as he at least put some effort in which I think has been lacking since he joined us.

He did fine tonight, only strange thing was with him in the box no crosses sent his way, depending on who is upfront the tactics need to adjust slightly

Re: Pigott starts tonight
He's not a target man and doesn't do enough off the ball. A few times he could have moved out wide and opened up the centre but stayed in the middle and the move broke down.
Ruel looks sharp for 15 minutes then loses momentum when the ball isn't played to him, not showing anything more than an impact sub.
We'll need two strikers in the summer or two wingers that will set it up on a plate.

We created nothing for Piggy, hardly any crosses of note and endless sideway or backward passing.
I’m no fan of Pigott but he was no worse than many of the others
Many looked knackered.

If I win the lotto tonight, I would give him a 5 year contract for a laugh

Re: Pigott starts tonight
First half he was garbage but second half he did some things that weren't terrible, held up and laid off pretty well several times.DrWindy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 10:35 pm He’s done little to impress me since he joined but I thought he did ok tonight. I thought he worked hard last night but he just doesn’t carry any goal threat.

Re: Pigott starts tonight
Many did look knackered and we’ve got Stevenage, a Lincoln side currently in red hot form and than Peterborough. I can’t see us getting anything out of those three games. However I’m not complaining because I think our players have given everything this season and we’re currently on course to finish in a comfortable mid table spot. I’m very pleased with that and would definitely have taken that at the beginning of the season. It’s just that the current injuries to our attacking players are now catching up with us.Cheshunto wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 11:20 pmThisDrWindy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 10:35 pm He’s done little to impress me since he joined but I thought he did ok tonight. Re: Pigott starts tonight
Also had that one run where he turned into romario and beat about 3 players.
We are noticeably more static when he is on. When our wingers cut in, the middle of the pitch gets bunged up as he can't move enough.
Still feel in the right set up he might be ok as he's sound technically, he can like link play up when he actually gets the ball , but it's never going to work here, just doesn't fit our play at all.

Re: Pigott starts tonight
Bit of a problem when you're a striker, pop him in CAM for rest of the season when Moncur isn't available, nothing to play for so may as well experiment. Who else shall we try in an alternative position for science?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 7:09 amI thought he worked hard last night but he just doesn’t carry any goal threat.
