Question (part 3) incoming

Post by Monkey Boy »

Unfortunately from my point of view( yep don’t bother I know some think differently ) we won’t make the playoffs. So next season who would you like to see shipped out and which players would you like to see brought in?

Course he’s not just asking what players on the opposition teams you would like us to nick or even if people have been watching other games that they have noticed.

Just to make the point these aren't based on whether I want particular players to stay or not, rather what's got potential of happening

GK - most likely looking for a permanent #1 though as someone said on another thread may not be beyond the realms of possibility of Brynn having a second season on loan

CB - replacement for Happe already here trying out for a contract, who I reckon will be off if he gets an offer elsewhere

LB - would Sweeney be better off loaned out to a promotion chasing L2 side than sitting in our reserves?

RB - will Galbraith stay there permanently or would we look at someone coming in so you'd have James / Hunt / ???

CM - need to find the next generation Pratley, will he stay on for another year or call it a day?

CM - El Miz permanent or a marquee signing here will be critical

RW - would love Forde back next season but seems unlikely given how he's impressed, so replacement required if Watford keep hold of him

ST - Drinan replacement required

ST - Pigott replacement required with the former being moved on, just hasn't worked out for him

ST - might need a third one depending on what happens with Sotiriou who is also out of contract

Investigating Thanks for the reply however as some have pointed out G, most people on here know who they would like to be moved on but what I would like to know is who would they like to be bought in. For instance has anyone been impressed by an opposition player or has someone seen a player on there travels that have caught the eye.

Not seen too many that have impressed me enough to think we'd like to have them but Barnsley's Kane was very good. He will stay with them if they go up and be too much money for us.

I'd like to see us gamble a bit on a quick striker out of non league. I like Wycombe's gable on Kone (who ffs spent 3 years playing in Newham). If we can find someone with an eye for goal and a real turn of pace then he'd get his chances.

I can see a lot of transition this summer - mainly because El Miz has played so well that the offers he will get will be above what we can afford and the teams making them are likely to be either bigger or at a higher level than us. Transition isn't always a bad thing - just so long as we get our first choice targets and we get a few through the door early.

I have a sneaking suspicion we might get El Miz permanently? Evan’s of Newport has caught the eye but I think he would cost to much. Would be happy to keep Forde permanently too. I wonder if all that stuff with Wellens after the last window was about getting players in early. It’s always been the club’s policy to sign players late because of saving money,so it will be interesting to see what happens assuming he’s still here?

If there's a person in the ground that does not want El Miz to stay then they should be banned. If he does go then he will be remebered for a very long time. Because of his 2 year success story we are more likely to see Forde (highly rated at Watford) and Brynn for a second year. As for club policy, there will always be a mix of quick signings and late ones. In some situations we have to wait for 30 June for offers to expire. The club will have an idea of who's likely to leave or stay and that should influence matters. Unless we start to hear about renewed contracts then its likely to be a busy summer.

Don’t get me wrong, I love El Miz however his shooting is pretty atrocious and he really needs to add goals to become a top level player. On that basis it’s just possible we have a squeak of keeping him.
