Re: Exiles thread - Bristol R. (H)
Once again we get the bare minimum added time when we're chasing a game yet last week had 7 added and had to play 9.
And now the goalkeeper saves a shot and referee gives a goal kick. Disgracefully bad.

Re: Exiles thread - Bristol R. (H)
Disappointing. In spite of all the corners and possession we didn't give their keeper enough shots to deal with. Sadly most of the teams above us have won, including Blackpool. Very likely we will look back on today as the day our play-off hopes ended.

Unfortunately a very clear example of our lack of depth holding us back today. The kids that came on tried hard but did nothing and you expect that. They gave away silly fouls where a more seasoned pro wouldn’t. Then you’re bringing on Pigott to miss from 8 yards. It ain’t to be this season but hopefully lessons are learnt

Yeah it really needed a big physical presence in the box to get on the end of a cross or loose ball. Had two chances to get that striker signing right this season so it's obvious which position needs addressing in summer.DrWindy wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:07 pm100%.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:06 pm Unfortunately a very clear example of our lack of depth holding us back today. Can't fault the effort today they gave it a damn good go which is all you can ask for really.

A great season so far from a talented bunch of players, shame we lost some of those players at various stages of the season( Agyei, Graham, Happe, Archibald plus Sanders for long periods. Hopefully they’ll “ learn their lesson “ and not get injured next season

Re: Exiles thread - Bristol R. (H)
We didn't have a shot on target until "the kids" came on. Sotiriou fluffed an excellent chance in front of goal. But we clearly don't have enough of a goal threat and O'Neil going off closed down, probably, our best option up front. The kiss of death was when they went down to 10 men. We never do well against 10 men.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:06 pm Unfortunately a very clear example of our lack of depth holding us back today. Ruel Sotiriou had 2 shots on target in the 2nd and 16th minutes, well before the “kids” came on .BoniO wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:12 pmWe didn't have a shot on target until "the kids" came on. Re: Exiles thread - Bristol R. (H)
We'll see from the pre-season schedule if the club has learnt lessons. Have more of them at home where we don't have to play on crap pitches which come with higher risk of injuries as we've seen with Drinan, Agyei etc. in recent seasons.B.whitehouse+10more wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:12 pm A great season so far from a talented bunch of players, shame we lost some of those players at various stages of the season( Agyei, Graham, Happe, Archibald plus Sanders for long periods. Fair enough. I missed a bit of the game and was relying on what DD said - my mistake.B.whitehouse+10more wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:17 pmRuel Sotiriou had 2 shots on target in the 2nd and 16th minutes, well before the “kids” came on .BoniO wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:12 pmWe didn't have a shot on target until "the kids" came on. Re: Exiles thread - Bristol R. (H)
Yeah, agree. My point being, in games where it ain’t working and you need to change it up, you don’t want two kids (not their fault) who have played about 4 games between them and a donkey as your striking optionsBoniO wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:12 pmWe didn't have a shot on target until "the kids" came on. Yes that’s so true, let’s stay away from these non league clubs we play usually be nice to go back to playing some of the bigger London clubs like we used to.gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:18 pmWe'll see from the pre-season schedule if the club has learnt lessons. Disappointing result, but we are in an excellent position. Last time we got promoted (2007) we HAD to win at Bradford (A) to stay up. We stayed up with 51 pts.
COME ON ORIENT!!!

Very, very well said, but knowing this club they will want to save the pitch for the start of the season.gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:18 pmWe'll see from the pre-season schedule if the club has learnt lessons. Probably needs explanation from Colin the groundsman but would think that with this fancy hybrid construction it shouldn't need as much mollycoddling as a standard grass one so hopefully we can use it more?Chicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 6:05 pmVery, very well said, but knowing this club they will want to save the pitch for the start of the season.gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:18 pmWe'll see from the pre-season schedule if the club has learnt lessons. Tbf our pitch was only ready about a week before the season started. We didn’t have an option but to play away
