empty seats
So many empty seats for the last few games ,massive gaps in the stands .I know what the official attendance was but it looked more like 5200 ish .
Does make you wonder why we need a new stadium .

Re: empty seats
I would think the club would gain from sales of food, drink, merchandise etc if the missing 2,000 or so where there. Plus don’t underestimate the ability of a larger crowd to create an even better atmosphere & cheer the lads on.

That's exactly what the devious Hearn made us (or a large proportion, anyway ) think, so he could go along with his flat building. And just look at the situation thats now left us in with the future of Brisbane road..

The outlets are all franchised so no, at least not directly.

Re: empty seats
I may be wrong but I think part of the deal is we take a share of their takings on matchdays. If so it would explain
why the club encourage people to get there a bit early to spend dosh.

Re: empty seats
That seems highly unlikely.
The club encourage people to use them as it improves our negotiating position next time around.

Re: empty seats
I would be interested to know, how much loot is made from the streaming service. It must be a moderate income on a cold February night. What surprises me, is the low key way that this service is marketed. You really have to hunt around on the Club website to find the link. Hardly encourages the casual punter in to an impulse purchase.

Re: empty seats
I think that what probably frustrates the club is that we could fit many more AWAY fans into the ground if it was bigger.
Derby for example were restricted to around 1250 when they probably could have brought double that amount.

Does the Supporters Club have to pay the club commission on all those egg sandwiches they shift on a match day?timothy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 29, 2024 10:39 amIf I hear any different I'll let you know.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Thu Feb 29, 2024 10:15 amThat seems highly unlikely.

I'm assuming it's egg sandwiches being pumped out in there from the aroma that flows out of the doors?

Re: empty seats
Tuesday night or midweek games have never been as popular Saturday. Most Saturday's it looks 90% full and seem to sell out. The club are turning down some on the day ticket sales because of limited capacity. Also statistically we are the club with the most full ground in L1. We could do with a larger stadium. The East Stand is borderline dangerous at times with the amount of fans in the tight undercroft at half time.

We don't sell egg sandwiches, must be something else.
Re: empty seats
F or F has raised a question I've raised a number of times - Does anyone have any idea how much revenue comes to the club for the streaming? Every match is available outside UK and exiles like myself never miss a match when it's available here in Wales / UK.

Re: empty seats
The way they bang on about pirate streaming/IPTV etc, I'm guessing not as much as they'd like.

Re: empty seats
I feel like there was a breakdown of streaming numbers at one point, which showed typical viewership of a few hundred per game? So, if the average was say 400-600 viewers = £4,000-£6,000 per game = £184,000-£276,000 for 46 games. Don't know what costs would be taken out of that figure. Presumably the host company takes a significant cut, and presenters/pundits remunerated?

Re: empty seats
300k was from the latest accounts, no indication of costs. Really can't imagine Joe Widdowson is getting paid big bucks for the analyst role.

Re: empty seats
I would imagine they're getting expenses and a chance to seek out a media career or , less likely, a future coaching role.

Re: empty seats
They were also very quick to sign up to the Sky deal which takes over from next season, so they can't have been that thrilled by the success of their in-house offer. £300k sounds like a lot, but I think this will also include the audio service as well?

The Club haven't said much about their plans, but this is what Sky are saying
