The Run In
So here we go, 11 games left and where will we end up?
Here's my game by game prediction;
B Roverzzzz H 3 pts
Wigan A 3 pts
Vale H 3 pts
Stevenage A 3 pts
Exetuuuur H 3 pts
Lincoln A 3 pts
PBoro H 3 pts
Chelt H 3 pts
Derby A 3 pts
Fleetwood H 3 pts
Shrews A 3 pts
33 and 54 equals 87, up with the Pompey we're going up with the Pompey!
Perhaps immediately after the Blackpool game was the wrong time for rational play off predicting so with hindsight, I've refined it to read;
BR 3
Wig 1
PV 3
Steve 1
Exe 3
Linc 1
Boro 1
Chelt 3
Derby 0
Fleet 3
Shrews 3
Giving us 22 more points and making a total of 76, finishing 6th and in the last play off place.
Feasible?

Re: The Run In
Definitely feasible. It’s annoying that there’s effectively only 1 playoff place up for grabs for us really.
I just don’t know, with our squad depth, we’ll only lose one game in the next two months. But if you extrapolate our ppg over the last ten games we end up with 78 points.
Mental what Richie has done.

Well hold on there boys, get a grip, let’s take one game at a time. As the saying goes “ it’s a funny old game” like your enthusiasm though it’s better than talking about relegation

Re: The Run In
This season very much mirrors 12/13 where we had low expectations and the team went on a good run and ended one spot outside of the playoffs. The next season we got to Wembley

Re: The Run In
That's the thing, we'd need to replicate an incredible and improbable run of form to get to what might not even be enough points to make the play offs. I think it's just a touch too far given the depth we have.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 1:31 pm if you extrapolate our ppg over the last ten games we end up with 78 points.
All the same, we look so settled and organised at the moment that there isn't a game I look and write off. If we did somehow make it, we'd be the form team and probably the one everyone else would want to avoid.

Re: The Run In
Because of our awful luck with injuries this season it feels like we've managed to get to eighth place with only one boot on . Therefore the fact we're talking about the play offs is testimony to the great job Richie and the players have done this season . As far as I'm concerned we've given ourselves a great chance to grab one of those play off spots . There always seems to be a team who comes up on the rails at the end of the season . I wonder if this season that team will be us .Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 1:31 pm Definitely feasible. Re: The Run In
Echo what everyone else has said.
If we did sneak in then as well as being the form team, there’s also a chance we’d have Agyei and/or Graham back as well….

Re: The Run In
Can't see us keeping up the current form till the end of the season, which is more or less what we need to get into the playoffs. I think we'll finish about 5 points outside the playoffs.

Re: The Run In
Sadly very tough away matches in the shape of Stevenage, Lincoln and Derby will, I believe, make it a step too far.
But you never know, a couple of those already in the playoffs form could absolutely tank between now and the end of the season. Home wins in all the home fixtures (especially Posh) would have to be achieved to realise the dream.
