Heathrow or Gatwick?Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 9:54 am Having paid zero attention to the playoff dates - because why on Earth would I? We're boringly midtable - I've just realised we land back from NZ at 2pm on the day of the playoff final. Feels suddenly inevitable.

Not divulging that kind of info on here. And as much as it'd be ledge bantz to do a mad taxi dash to Wembley, I couldn't afford the divorce proceedings.

Port Vale forum in meltdown … a lot of praise for us though, be interesting to see how it pans out with Robbie Williams waiting in the wings.

Re: Exiles thread - Port Vale (A)
In my opinion it's a very good chance, but not a 'sitter'. The best strikers in the world miss very good chances, even sitters on occasions. Agyei is going to miss good chances, make no mistake, perhaps even a 'sitter'. This is not to say, in any way, I am putting Ruel on the same level as Dan the man. Trouble is, now that he is out injured, good chances now missed, are highlighted to the point of exaggeration, especially on the shoulders of Ruel Sotiriou.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 7:56 amrelentless.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 7:48 am I’ve watched the highlights back, desperately searching for all these sitters he missed and can’t see them. Yes, he had a couple of half decent chances but that’s it.
The chance where he hit the bar is obviously a sitter. He's about 7 yards out and it's put on a plate for him.

Re: Exiles thread - Port Vale (A)
Yes, their team, and particularly their DOF are all getting a tremendous amount of stick. Only exception is their keeper who is rightly getting a lot of praise for his efforts last night. I thought Vale were really poor. Hard to say out of them and Carlisle on Saturday who was worse. But we were very good to be fair and never really troubled.B.whitehouse+10more wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 11:14 am Port Vale forum in meltdown … a lot of praise for us though, be interesting to see how it pans out with Robbie Williams waiting in the wings.

He wants our forwards, he's loving Agyei instead.B.whitehouse+10more wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 11:14 am Port Vale forum in meltdown … a lot of praise for us though, be interesting to see how it pans out with Robbie Williams waiting in the wings.

Well if you listen to it, it mentions the game and a chant aimed at himProposition Joe wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 8:59 pm What's that got to do with our game against Port Vale?

This would require listening to Piers Morgan too.
What’s the relevance?

We're short on options up front or Ruel wouldn't be in the starting 11. He's not a League 1 player I'm afraid. I know he's scored a handful of goals this season but only because he's been given so many chances. He misses so many sitters and I'm sure he'd be better if his boots weren't tied together.

Re: Exiles thread - Port Vale (A)
He’s always been a decent finisher. Feel like that’s actually his strongest asset. Like any league two/one player he’ll miss chances (last night a good example where he scored two great goals and missed a decent chance). The fact he misses some means he’s got in a good position, or created a chance for himselfHoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 9:52 amI'm sticking by this.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 7:48 am Of all the criticisms that can be levelled at Ruel, poor finishing is not one of them.

Totally. On for 20 minutes, could have had four goals (the shot from the edge of the box that I think deflected narrowly wide and the left foot instant finish that sailed over the bar).

Ha - I'm enjoying watching you agreeing with yourself but, for my part, I couldn't be more happy for Ruel to prove me wrong. I'll be his biggest fan if he carries on like he's playing at present.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 10:23 am Totally.
