Can we make the playoffs?
7 points behind Stevenage
8 points behind Barnsley
Both have a game in hand
We have got to play a few of the teams above us, we'd need to win a few and not lose more than one to stand a chance I think.

Re: Can we make the playoffs?
I don't think so. We obviously ballsed up bringing a forward in so won't be clinical enough in marginal games, and there's simply too much room to make up. We're effectively an extra point behind those two cause of our goal difference as well.
Obviously still clearing my May calendar on the off chance we do it though.

With Agyei we may have done. Can’t see us scoring enough without him. Still, will be a great season. When we lose El Miz in the summer will be the next time to moan, oh, that and losing to Stevenage.

Re: Can we make the playoffs?
It'll depend on the 7 games we have to play in March. Based on nothing more scientific than supporting the Os for 50+ seasons, if we do well in March, we've usually had a successful season. Though sometimes that good March has only made sure we avoid relegation, but in a handful of seasons, it has meant we are challenging for promotion. One can only hope, but I can't see us doing it; probably finish about 6-9 points outside the play-offs.

No and thank you for showing the true colours of a long-standing O’s fan. I’m always in Panic mode until we get around the 52/53 points mark.

He's been a revelation. Expected very little from him when he first joined.Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 3:55 pm If/when we lose Forde that will be a big blow, too.
In general we've used the loan market really well. Cooper was exactly what we needed and now here permanently, Brynn has been a superb Vigs replacement, Mizouni is obviously Mizouni and Forde has been terrific. Turns didn't quite make the step up but can see why we took a punt on him and still contributed.

I doubt it, but if we go and beat Barnsley on Saturday I might begin to think otherwise.

Re: Can we make the playoffs?
That was our priority from the beginning of the season. However if we can beat both Stevenage and Barnsley away, we have a really good chance for the playoffs

that match at Stevenage now has the potential to be massive. Really choking back the vomit if we get another pummelling there.

Re: Can we make the playoffs?
Doesn't affect our march to Wembley but even if we win all 16 of our remaining games, we'd still be 3 points short of Wednesday's tally last season when they didn't even manage automatic. That 3 way fight was ridiculous.

We are at the wrong end of the table to be relegated. 250 -1 according to bookies.

Re: Can we make the playoffs?
Cant see us winning 7 at home. We've only managed an average of 1 goal a game at home this season.y o y o y wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 4:28 pm 16 games to go = 48 points

Reckon we'll win more than 2 away though.

Re: Can we make the playoffs?
Look at the recent form. Of course we can. Average 2 points a game and we are there, together with a heap of momentum.

Re: Can we make the playoffs?
If we had Agyei, or had brought in a suitable replacement in January then yeah, we had a really good shout. So long as no injuries to any of our other key players such as El Miz, Beckles and Brynn.
But without a recognised senior striker and having to rely on Ruel with pigs off the bench, it’s a massive, massive ask.

Re: Can we make the playoffs?
It’s nice to be in the position to dream of play offs, whilst it’s possible let’s all believe, and enjoy, as RW and the boys, give it a go!
Realistically, we would need the run to continue for next 5 games and see what the table looks like at the end of Feb.
Will need the squad to say injury free, and hope one of the young loan forwards, is our 88/89 Kevin Campbell
I trust RW, but don’t understand why Pigott is still getting mins, ahead of the 2 new loanees?
Pigott is embarrassing and the young guys deserve to be given a chance.
It’s exciting times, so let’s enjoy
