The Green Party

Post by ComeOnYouOs »

When Corbyn offered his resignation as Labour leader in Dec 2019, First thing i said to my partner was, " if Labour elect Starmer as leader, watch the Green vote double over the next couple of years", and looking at results, they at least doubled and in places trebled their votes.

The Greens are a decent left wing party, with on the whole good policies.

I saw part of an interview with joint leader Jon Bartley yesterday, and he was explaining, the Green Party is a Socialist party, not just a one issue party with a whole range of policies.

My only criticism of the Greens is the name....it conjures up visions of hippy tree huggers etc.

They should change the name IMO...I'll think of a few names, and i might email them.

One thing is for sure, under plank Starmer, Labour is f*cked. What happened yesterday will get worse as the next 18 months pass by.

The Rose Party.

Link with Rosé wine will bring in the ladies and the pink vote. Roses are plants, so very green. Labour have a rose, so you'll get them in, and the Conservative olds love growing roses.

Jobs a goodun.

That Jennie Jones, achieved nothing yet given a peerage for failure like many others. The system is rubbish. Even worse is that young early 30’s pretty faced lady appointed by Boris for a life of luxury for er advising him. I bet she did.

I don’t think enough is made of the fact that Boris Johnson handed his brother, Jo Johnson, a peerage.

The guy was an MP for less than a decade and served for small periods in various junior minister roles. Absolutely nothing spectacular or distinguished about his political career. Certainly nothing to justify having a seat for life in the HoL.

I'd also like an update on how the Green Party is progressing with the various alternative name suggestions he emailed to them.

I would happily vote for The Greens on their environmental policy however they lose me when they also believe in mass open border immigration. How you can save the planet on one hand but want to help millions of people become more voracious consumers on the other, I have no idea.

That’s a really good point. When are you planning to move the other way to become a less vociferous consumer?

Bera can never quite seem to connect the dots between environmental breakdown driving migration on a scale never seen before and where these people will be forced to go as their countries become unliveable.

I am just stating that I don’t understand the Green parties stance, the environment doesn’t care how compassionate you are. Fully except I am white, middle aged, bloke, born in London and can pontificate having been given most of life’s advantages.

Who is this ‘Green Party’? Is it the elephant’s graveyard for all the loony left-wingers who still do not understand that anti-semitism beliefs are wrong?

Most 'anti semitism has come from the extreme right, over many years, and nowdays theres a debate over what actually constitutes anti semitism.
Carrying a Palestinian flag in my opinion isnt anti semitic, but there are those who say it is.
Islamophobia is just as great a wrong as anti semitism, but in the hierarchy of racism, its way behind.

Strange that being vegan is kind of equated to living in a cave in Wales.

Polanski's a Lib Dem anyway, only jumped ship after he wasn't selected as a prospective MP.
