HMRC new tax crackdown on ebay sellers etc

Post by E10EU »

As from 1st Jan. 2024 ebay, etsy, Airbnb etc. have to inform HMRC of the personal details of all those who use their sites for listing.
Any sales over £1000 pa will be liable for tax.

How much will it cost for Inland Revenue staff to be appointed for implementing this?
Will there be any IR staff available, designated and competent to pursue the bigtime corporate tax dodgers?

No, there will be no IR staff available, designated and competent to pursue the bigtime corporate tax dodgers

The above answers are easy to clarify as the Inland Revenue ceased to exist in April 2005

Hopefully we get a tax rebate on what we buy.

Seriously though, this puts a dent in my hopes to flog some Lego. Anyone want to buy some complete Lego sets in good condition
