Alias accounts
Would be nice if the moderators/admin could clamp down on this. Individuals using multiple accounts to harass users and continue feuds that they apparently want to end really ruins the enjoyment of this otherwise excellent board.
It’s incredibly sad and strange behaviour but it’s quite blatant that it goes on. Is there anything which can be down to address this?
It happens fairly regularly. Individual users become the target. At the moment it’s me but in the past it has been others and no doubt it’ll carry on into the future if nothing is done.
A real shame as if seriously negatively impacts the experience of this board.

Re: Alias accounts
Is it not somewhat suspicious how the account B.whitehouse+10more suddenly starts digging me out by name despite me never having engaged with them before just as “CEB” has apparently put me on foe…Long slender neck wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 8:22 pm If you've got any theories let me know. Its not simple to identify these
I’m sure it is hard to prove so I don’t expect much. But it really does ruin this otherwise decent board.

Re: Alias accounts
Would you concede, Rev, that it's possible that two different boarders might concurrently think you're being a bit of a twonk?

Re: Alias accounts
It’s completely possible. However an account I’ve never previously engaged with suddenly digging me out on threads is highly suspicious.Wally Banter wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 8:27 pm Would you concede, Rev, that it's possible that two different boarders might concurrently think you're being a bit of a twonk?

Re: Alias accounts
Read BWhitehouse's many years of indiscriminate anti-moaner posting and you'll find it much less suspicious.

Pointing out the manipulative and hypocritical behaviour of another boarder makes me a “moaner” does it?Wally Banter wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 8:32 pm Read BWhitehouse's many years of indiscriminate anti-moaner posting and you'll find it much less suspicious.

If we ban alias accounts it’s going to get rather tedious with the six of us posting only

Re: Alias accounts
Can Rev decide whether
A: I never discuss Orient
or
B: I am Brian Whitehouse
?
Can’t have it both ways.
Or I guess he could expand on his theory, summarising why I would create an alias a year before joining under my long term name, and decide not to use it for expressing opinions that put me out on a limb politically from my fellow lefties on a very divisive subject, but to use it to talk football and then eventually put a smiley under a CEB post.
I’m bang to rights here. I shan’t live it down

I tend to agree Rev there’s no way tuffers would just leave the board, he’s got a couple more, it’s hard to prove there’s probably a couple on here. As said before you have to just ignore them, they feed off of arguments.

Re: Alias accounts
Your concern for the impact on others' experience of this board is touching. It would be more believable if you list now - honestly - all the usernames you've used on this board, because I have to be honest with you and say that I don't believe you've only ever been the Reverend. The Reverend wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 7:58 pm Would be nice if the moderators/admin could clamp down on this. Which other accounts are you accusing me of being behind? And what evidence do you have?StillSpike wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 9:32 pmYour concern for the impact on others' experience of this board is touching. Re: Alias accounts
Yeah, StillSpike, Rev needs good evidence before he’ll accuse people of being aliases!
Maybe, to set a good example, he’ll show the evidence for me and b.Whitehouse being the same person.

Re: Alias accounts
“Waaaah I got the attention I wanted from CEB and not I’m pretending to be shocked that he’s engaged”
Mate, I foe’d you as a way of saying “let’s leave it there”
You then posted about me incessantly because you wrongly thought I was using an alias.
I admit I’ve not resisted the urge to join in this car crash, hands up - I’m enjoying this. And I do have to finish this pack of chocolate hob nobs before I start a diet tomorrow.

Re: Alias accounts
Back with the controlling and manipulative behaviour I see. Because YOU decide the feud is over then it must end there? Anyone who continues after YOU decided it over is clearly inferior to you.CEB wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 10:21 pm “Waaaah I got the attention I wanted from CEB and not I’m pretending to be shocked that he’s engaged”

Even though you were the one who decided to come after me immediately after your ban was lifted. But that behaviour is perfectly fine and not petty at all because ermmmm…. you decide it isn’t. Because you’re so superior and always right.
Because YOU decide a mod has upset you then it’s perfectly fine to abuse them.
Because YOU didn’t like a comment LSN made you demand he amends it (which thankfully he didn’t).
Notice the theme emerging here….

You can carry this on as long as you like, my friend. I’ve having a fine time watching it unfold.
