Away fans booing their own team
Happened two games in a row now. Charlton fans completely OTT abusing their own players and staff both during the game and after. You’d think they were in the relegation zone.
Last night Wycombe fans were calling for their managers head and booing their own players at the end of the game.
Same happened with Reading earlier in the season, although circumstances slightly different at that club.
I’ve always thought that booing your own players and staff is crass and entitled behaviour. Booing players in particular is poor form. I can forgive booing managers in some circumstances. There have been occasions, both home and away, where I’ve been very disappointed with a result or performance so when the final whistle goes I got up and left. I’ve never felt the need to abuse people trying to do their job.

Re: Away fans booing their own team
Say's something about dropping points to Orient, maybe we are seen as a "winnable" game and the fans get frustrated when we either beat them or draw with them.
Possibly both Charlton ( was a very good 3 points off of them) and Wycombe thought they could rock up and beat us?

Suspicious of anyone who doesn't love a good boo when it's called for. Do you even like football?
Re: Away fans booing their own team
I’ve heard that some fans are so toxic that they go beyond booing, and pursue online vendettas against goalkeepers they deem not good enough for their team, acting as if they’re fair game for very harsh, endless criticism.
One can only hope that a person delicate enough to object to booing never encounters such behaviour

Maybe they were saying “Booooooiiii… hope they never play for or manage our club again”?

Some runt shouting his head off in the East Stand last night fits the same bill.

You really are a sensitive soul aren’t you. Quite amusing that you bring up online vendettas when you genuinely started an online vendetta against someone who moderators this board for free in their spare time just because they posted a comment that you didn’t like.CEB wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 12:52 pm I’ve heard that some fans are so toxic that they go beyond booing, and pursue online vendettas against goalkeepers they deem not good enough for their team, acting as if they’re fair game for very harsh, endless criticism.

Are you going to start crying and have a hissy fit over my comments now?
By the way, if I were to use your logic, I can decide when I think that someone is behaving like a C and call them as such. I happen to think that you are acting like a C but I also have the maturity to resist calling strangers on the internet a C. Maybe you should try the same rather than flying off the handle when you see comments you don’t like.

Thanks! I’ve always thought I’m a cool dude, and now you’ve suggested that you think that’s what I am! Appreciate it I think you’re a c, too!

Wycombe are small fry. Non league for most of their history. It was Ainsworth that transformed them

How about giving it a rest, literally, with the faeces jokes. They are poor, unfunny and tedious.
