That said, we've only got a relatively short period before we'll be killing each other over food, drinking water and high ground anyway, so it's probably not worth worrying about.
" killing each other over food". Project fear on steroids .

Re: Brexit Effect
Not really bitter, I don't think. Just past caring.
Mista sums up Brexit rather well on the previous page. Sadly, those leading our country (and their cheerleaders and string-pullers) are still selling the idea that we just have to BELIEVE in "it", and ourselves, enough and it'll be OK (or at least not TOO bad). It's like f*cking Tinkerbell - if enough of us say we believe in fairies then she'll live.
As I say, I don't think it's really worth worrying that much about, as we're so f*cked anyway - even without the self-inflicted wounds.
I don't think the coming decades are going to be much fun at all so I'm concentrating on enjoying the present.

Is OFF in charge of Brexit? He was always telling us we had to believe. Maybe he could drum us into an amazing trade deal with the US.

That works both ways, leavers think they are right and dont believe anything that does not fit in with their way of thinking. Lets be honest, no one knows what will happen either way.

No, I don't think it works both ways. You can't beat the superior attitude of the 'we know best' remoaners. Forever telling leavers, you don't know what your doing, and we must stop thinking about the second world war.

Yes it would. With Europe going into yet another recession while the rest of the world powers on. German data is awful. As my mum used to say. Europe is like an old prostitute. Who wants to be shackled to that.

Yes, but the trouble with that is, it gives the remoaners the point scoring argument that Brexiteers must hate all foreigners.

The nation has been changed into a giant reflection of the Tory party with all its self interest, bickering, disloyalty, back-stabbing and hypocracy. In a couple of years we will start to see the real reasons for getting us out of the EU when they start to jerrymander the system to create a one-party state.

You've more or less only confirmed what I'm saying. When you are scratching around for something more to add you (you, as in remainers) have to resort to making things up about the past, foreigners etc. And also having to resort by saying how, 'I hate all things in existence'. All this because I have a different view to you. You sound like your living a life of fantasy. And rest assured mista, I love and enjoy life.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 8:37 am Don't worry CCH, given that every single post of yours is some sort of whine, complaint or talking about how much better things used to be, I've come to the conclusion that you don't discriminate and that you simply hate all things in existence.

Re: Brexit Effect
"America and China remain locked in a perilous trade war with no end in sight. The United States is still poised to impose a 10 per cent tariff on some US$300 billion worth of Chinese imports.
It does not seem unreasonable to suppose that China might then retaliate by engineering a substantial devaluation of its currency. After all, a cheaper yuan would go a long way toward offsetting the impact of Trump’s tariffs on the prices of Chinese goods in the US."

The rest of the world "powers on". If this continues and we are adrift in the world economy without the anchor of large trading partnerships we are Donald ducked. We will simply be collateral damage.

Re: Brexit Effect
In your humble opinion, and I mean really humble. Anyone who continues to use the massively overused playground insult "remoaner" can't be taken seriously can they. Anyone who has witnessed the fiasco of the last few years and doesn't at least have doubts about the outcome of a hard Brexit can't be taken seriously either. I've yet to see a considered and well articulated plan of what benefits a hard Brexit will bring other than bluster and fake rhetoric from that a-wipe Boris. I don't accept that feeling really positive and backing the government is going to cut it somehow.Chief crazy horse wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 11:15 pm No, I don't think it works both ways. Trump must be walking round with a permanent boner when he thinks how easy it's going to be to rip us off.

Devaluing their currency as predicted last month on another thread. By me. You are correct, the rug is getting pulled on the global economy. Inverted yield curve in the US the last 48 hours= global recession. I disagree that staying in the EU would insulate us in any way. Not being in the EU is how we will get through it. We can start slashing regulations, cutting taxes, reducing tariffs. It does not have to be bad for the environment. We can be as environmentally friendly as we like. It might not be great if you rely on the state but the bloated state is why Europe is in such a mess in the first place.
