Richie has just spelt it out for them - again - in todays interview. We’re nowhere near the finished article, we’re a work in progress, some people just need to calm down a bit.

Spot on, clear out the dead wood in January that are below league 1 capable and bring in experienced league 1 players that have played regular league 1 football or above that are not injured or sick notes that are ready to go from day 1.gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 6:59 pm It's not quite comfortable mid-table though is it? I'm with Kent Teague that you really want to be in that sunnier 11th / 12th spot not within the bottom 8.
I'd snap your hand off right now to finish in this current position but without reinforcements in January it'll be a real struggle to stay there

Problem is it's also the players that have been brought in to "improve" on last season's squad that are proving as much of an issue as the ones we need to move on from the L2 days.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 10:19 pm Richie has just spelt it out for them - again - in todays interview. The comparison with that season is interesting. I’d actually forgotten about Rotherham’s 10pt deduction, which may well have saved us: yes, they finished more than 10pts behind, but it’s entirely plausible that without the deduction they might have made more of a fist of their fight to stay up.Joe315 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 9:53 pm A look at our final league table 2006-7 after promotion from the league below .

Teams who finished 1st & 24th have been on very different journeys.
Otherwise, the contrasts are many. We just about scraped up in 2006, whereas we absolutely bossed it last season. We also have a much more ambitious board this time: Hearn was only ever really interested in survival in League One. Hindsight also shows that Ling’s managerial career pretty much peaked with that promotion. Suspect that Wellens will keep growing and developing for a while yet.
Overall, we came into League One this season in far better shape than we were 17yrs previously.

Well done you on your prediction. I would guess though that thousands of other O's supporters would have said the same. Like I said before your post is upbeat and there is nothing upbeat about this team at the moment. And being mid table doesn't mean that a teams performances cannot be fine.MalvoliO wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 9:38 pm No, Chief Crazy, I'm going on as if we are mid-table at Christmas which was my prediction in early September, and lo and behold it has come true. Of course not everything is fine - that is why we are mid-table - but I have faith in the club to bring in the required reinforcements next month to continue the consolidation in League One. No more predictions from me - I'll leave it to the doomers instead to have the last word.

Dunno. That second half performance was upbeat. As were the fans at the end.

All very well ending a game on a high but if we don’t end up winning the game,we’re down. You can’t keep giving teams a 3 goal start or any start come to think of it. As for a clear out all very well said than done? In his interviews Richie started by say “we need to bring in a few” now it’s been watered down to “we need to ship out to help buy” is he being backed by the board???? You decide

With 4 years of league football behind us against 100 years ?OyinbO wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 9:26 amThe comparison with that season is interesting. How did you expect this season to pan out CCH and what would you like to happen now that it isn't going how you'd hoped?

Of course he is backed by the board it’s so obvious surprised you can’t see it, but I respect your opinionMonkey Boy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 10:29 am All very well ending a game on a high but if we don’t end up winning the game,we’re down.
