.Can only hope so, great crash bang wallop player can watch him all day in the limited overs stuff but he has no defensive technique whatsoever. Time to give Dominic Sibley of Warwickshire a go consistant performer and plays with a straight bat much better test match technique.

He's not a test class player, he will always get found out by good test match bowling I dont think hiding him down the order would help tbh. The art of occupying the crease seems to have gone out of cricket where Chris Tavare when we need him.

Chris Tavare, OMG, that is going from one extreme to the other, he made Boycott look like an attacking opening bat !! IMO, best opener that I ever saw play was Barry Richards, he had it all. Shame that like Barry, so many great South African cricketers of that era were not allowed to play test cricket for such a long time.

That most cynical of Australian cricketers Allan Border, described Chris Tavare as a corpse with pads on. He did a job on them and they hated him for it.
