What would you miss about the National League?

Post by ContrifibulatoryFred »

Of course I am hoping we go up as champs and never have to play in this league again
However, if we do win this league there are some things I will miss next season such as

1. Being able to listen to BBC commentaries (avec Dulcet Dave) on away games plus those home ones I could not be at
2. BT Sport coverage of this league - really liked the half 12 Saturday kick offs and might tune in a bit next season too

Some very cheap tickets ( rightly so as it turns out).

Getting scores of our matches easier and we might read about us in the shyte rags.

The last two seasons have been a culture shock.

Decent coverage in Non League Paper.

Lax bag searches and lack of rules about proper cameras

No league cup or Johnstone’s sh*t trophy

Lots of local games

I guess it's relative. I'll also miss the tv games (though until a few days ago we'd been on twice all season) and not having to pay for the commentary every week, but I'd sacrifice those in a heartbeat for being back in the league again. So not sure "miss" is the right word.

I will miss the terrible finishing from opposition players when well placed though. Won't be as much of that back in the league.

Good write-ups in the non-league paper.
Lots of new grounds to visit.
Being regarded as a big club by the opposition instead of 'little leyton orient'

We will still be one of the biggest clubs in league 2.

Could have Colchester & Sarfend. Local for me in deepest, darkest Suffolk.

Pretty much this. Still swap it for Swindon and Morecambe though.

I can't see how it is difficult to get scores for NL? Where are you looking?

Non league paper front page photos.

That is all, the rest of NL is dreadful and I'll be so glad to see the back of it.

Since JE arrived we’ve been pretty successful on the pitch at level 5, which has been nice. Also been a change to be the Big Club rather than Little Leyton Orient. And lots of local away games, even if the stadiums have been a bit rudimentary at times.
But generally I’ll be relieved to be back where we belong: bumbling about with the other tinpot lower Football League clubs.

Free dulcet commentary and BT coverage. The sky coverage of lower league football is atrocious unless you support a big club like Portsmouth. But would swap that for league two with no hesitation whatsoever.

There is nothing I'll miss about the NL. Is been just dreadful being in this crap league, and unless we make an almighty cockup on Saturday, we are gone from it
Whilst there are a few good footballers in it, there are many awful terrible players, cloggers, and terrible refereeing
When i started supporting the O's, we were a second tier side , and Ive watched us slowly go lower and lower, but non league was a step too far. hopefully with Justin in charge we can start to go higher and higher, and get back in the Championship once again

I definitely won’t miss having to qualify for the first round of the fa cup, however I will miss seeing all sorts of new (even if most of them are awful) grounds and speaking to the non league fans going on about how brilliant it is for them to play the massive Leyton Orient.

I think all games outside of the saturday 3pm blackout are available for streaming on the EFL iFollow service for both domestic and international. Having seen videos from yesterday's Luton v AFC Wimbledon game floating around the internet it looks quite decent.

Appreciate it isn't Sky - but is ok.

Will the Dulcet dribblings via the BBC stop if we are promoted?
