Re: European Super League
The UK government could kill dead the chance of UK sides in any European Super League by redefining rules re work permits so that they are only granted to overseas players to play in EFL and or Premiership.
Can you imagine Man City, Chelsea etc with only British nationals and no overseas players

Yes, I can imagine it, as like many on here I'm sure, remember when that was how it used to be. In the days when I was very interested in the English First Division as knew who most of the players were and what their backgrounds were. And they played in distinctive stadiums that you recognised immediately. And, it has to be said, won European trophies fairly regularly without spending 50 Trillion quid each season.

Re: European Super League
There would be so much money sloshing around a super league and fans will never have to travel to watch their team play the likes of Barca or Real ever again . They could sit comfortably in their own stadium to watch all the away games on huge screens together with fantastic sound systems it will be like the real deal .

and they will fill their stadiums for the away games . In Man Utd case 73000 at home to Barca and 73000 in their own stadium when they play away to Barca . Anybody who thinks this wont happen is very niave .

Re: European Super League
I'm not saying stadiums will not be full watching on big screens, should this super league materialise ? But you have conveniently veered away from the main point I was replying to. You said, 'it will be like the real deal'. It won't. I'm not saying it could never happen but nothing can replicate the atmosphere of 'live' game viewing.

Re: European Super League
It would be nice if all the fans who were protesting about thus in 2021 stay away from the games

Re: European Super League
How long will that last?
I'm struggling to see where there would be any money in an ESL without TV money
I suspect this is Weasley words from the ESL.
I would expect that games will be on Sky TV or similar for which you will need a subscription, but it won't be PPV and that is what I guess they mean by being "free" on TV

Re: European Super League
Could be some good advertising money in a free streaming service watched by billions. But if so, why hasnt it been done before?
