Re: Luke Armstrong
If I recall correctly, Palmer went to Wrexham from AFC Wimbledon for club record fee of £300,000 and he has contributed 33 goals in 69 games for them. All of which helped in Wrexham's promotion from the National League to Division 2. Another ex Orient player is Sam Dalby who also does a job for Wrexham and is still only 23 years old !aylesburyos wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 11:27 pmPalmer LOLessexfootball wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 7:53 pm Looked like he was going MK Dons, now Wrexham have swooped in with big money, Mullin, Palmer, Lee, Armstrong

I'm hoping by the time January comes around we won't need another striker because our current strikers would have already found their scoring boots .Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 8:46 amThats ok, gives Os the chance to buy him when the next transfer window comes around !Adz wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 8:22 amJust imagine the abuse Ling would get on here if that was us.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 8:26 pm Deal didn't go through in time, still at Harrogate.

Re: Luke Armstrong
Like it or lump it, our action man striker from last season ( Paul Smyth ) has gone and without him last season, probably would not have got promoted.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 11:29 amI'm hoping by the time January comes around we won't need another striker because our current strikers would have already found their scoring boots .Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 8:46 amThats ok, gives Os the chance to buy him when the next transfer window comes around !
At present the only other two goal scorers on a semi regular basis are Ruel and Theo, the young loan player Forde, well far too early to see if he can do a goal scoring job playing up top, let us hope he CAN do it ?

Re: Luke Armstrong
Whether he's been out of the side recently or not, his overall record is 29 goals in 103 League Two games. Not sure why he's being spoken about in such revered tones.

Re: Luke Armstrong
And 1 in 25 for Salford before that, so 30 in 128 L2 matches. Not amazing.
Plus he's the oldest looking 27 year old I've ever seen. Must've done his paper round in Basra.

I would imagine a big part of this deal going through is geography.
He’s a North East man and a move to Carlisle would probably be a good move for him / his family.

Can only comment on the times I've seen him play against us, but every time he's been a proper handful and someone I'd happily have in our team.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 10:53 am Whether he's been out of the side recently or not, his overall record is 29 goals in 103 League Two games. Re: Luke Armstrong
Like others have said, he’s a handful and the sort of player that Richie likes, hard working bit like Drinan but actually scores. We must have something really spectacular lined upProposition Joe wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 10:53 am Whether he's been out of the side recently or not, his overall record is 29 goals in 103 League Two games. Still played 822 minutes for his one goal, and he's got an attitude problem!Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 11:02 amHe wasn’t picked because he wanted out.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 10:54 amSo he cant get in the Harrogate team.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 10:52 am

Re: Luke Armstrong
Not sure you’re grasping this with respect. 1. There’s not that many forwards out there to sign that are within our budget 2. How many minutes has Drinan and Pigot played. 3. He’s played at this level and he’s still quite young and would suit Richie’s style of play. Now if you can suggest someone better I’m all earsChelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 11:07 amStill played 822 minutes for his one goal, and he's got an attitude problem!

Re: Luke Armstrong
While technically true, not sure 3 goals in 16 games during a loan spell 5 seasons ago is rock solid evidence of proven L1 pedigree, especially since he hasn't played above L2 since.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 11:16 am3. Well like I said if there’s better out there I’d like to know. There is actually someone but he’s injured and belongs to a championship club soProposition Joe wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 11:23 amWhile technically true, not sure 3 goals in 16 games during a loan spell 5 seasons ago is rock solid evidence of proven L1 pedigree, especially since he hasn't played above L2 since.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 11:16 am3.
