Shaq Forde
Does his loan spell end in January, or have we got him until the end of the season?
If its the former, I would like to try to extend it.
He's far from the finished article, but he's a young lad learning his trade, and he's got a positive attitude.......whenever he gets the ball, he's looking to move forwards, whether he runs with it, or a forward pass, the exact opposite of what many of the team do, ie. pass sideways or backwards
If its the former, I would like to try to extend it.

Season long loan but if it wasn’t, I’d be sending him back as hasn’t done enough in the first half of the season to justify extending it.
Looked really promising initially but the Stevenage game seemed to knock him. Hopefully yesterday was him getting going again.

Re: Shaq Forde
I think the whole team looked more positive once Forde and Galbraith came on, less sideways and back passing and more going forward, as we had to and we got our rewards. Shame we didn’t try that earlier, but give credit to Cheltenham they did well in the 1st 30 mins of the 2nd half.Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 5:12 pm He was the gamechanger yesterday without any doubt at all.

Re: Shaq Forde
People thinking we just decided to go forward all of a sudden yday. They tired and before the last 10-15 stopped us going forward. Galbraith and Forde came on at a good time, they’ve both looked poor recently. I think both have lots of potential though but not sure I buy the praise

Re: Shaq Forde
Accept the point that we were of course trying to get forward but when you’re flat and lacking in confidence, it’s not easy. And that they may have tired a bit.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 6:05 pm People thinking we just decided to go forward all of a sudden yday. But Forde and Galbraith still deserve the praise. I would guess their confidence isn’t as low as others, having not played much.

Also had a decent impact against Derby, in spite of the situation. Raw, but very lively. Needs to work on his power, strength, and composure but he’s got more potential than Pigott or Drinan. Sadly, he’s not our player - for now he’s probably on a par with the former but obviously offers something different.

I'm not too sure what you're expecting of Forde. I haven't worked it out but his goals per ratio of minutes on the pitch must be pretty good.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 5:24 pm Season long loan but if it wasn’t, I’d be sending him back as hasn’t done enough in the first half of the season to justify extending it.

Re: Shaq Forde
He's a third choice striker, we probably wouldn't do much better for the wages I'd imagine he's on. The real problem is that he's scored more than the two supposedly ahead of him combined. I'd keep him, he's at least something different and can get goals.

I expect you'd be surprised at the wages he's on (although I've no idea if we are covering them in full or not).Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 10:53 pm He's a third choice striker, we probably wouldn't do much better for the wages I'd imagine he's on. I understand he's not here as first choice, but with our current first choices all being a bit below par/injured/coming back from injury and all under contract, there's justification for shipping him back and bringing in a new first choice.
But he's also here for the year, so it's irrelevant anyway.
My gripe is just that he hasn't delivered anywhere near what I thought he would from his first 2 hours of football.

Re: Shaq Forde
Sorry don’t agree with that, I by no means saying he’s the answer to all our problems but he’s a young kid, not being picked regularly and playing in a side that up until the weekend is low on confidence, least he’s putting the ball in the net when given a full game unlike Pigot and Drinan. Bit harsh imoHoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 7:29 amI expect you'd be surprised at the wages he's on (although I've no idea if we are covering them in full or not).Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 10:53 pm He's a third choice striker, we probably wouldn't do much better for the wages I'd imagine he's on. I would think that the last person to have a 'gripe' about, considering the mess we are as a team at the moment, is the Shaq attack.

Shaq Forde is a young lad who is still learning his trade, at the Os on a years loan from Watford. AS Monkey Boy says, he has not been getting regular game time with the Os but has done ok when he has been given the chance to play, not frightened to have a shot and is getting better as the season goes on.
