Keeping warm at home games
I am finding it increasingly uncomfortable at home games to stay warm in this weather , someone gave me some hand warmers to try. They react with the air and last for hours I’m told. I have a big coat which just about works but my feet suffer despite thick socks and boots. Anyone else endure this and have any tips?

Thermal long johns and vest, and heated socks. Also, a woolly hat is a must.

My sister takes a little blanket. Don't know about a bloke doing the same though! I feel the cold a lot too sitting down in the west stand. A thermal vest helps and sometimes I wear an old pair of football socks pulled up to the knees. Helps too.

I should add, you are advised to wear other clothing over your thermals, but it's not mandatory.

You would be better wearing 2 normal pairs of socks than a single thick pair Layers trap heat between themDaily Express bot wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 2:15 pm I am finding it increasingly uncomfortable at home games to stay warm in this weather , someone gave me some hand warmers to try. Bit of a job to do that at a football home game, note the thread title ''Keeping warm at home games''Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 3:22 pmBut seriously you can’t beat a hot water bottle on your feet, keep them warm and your be fineDaily Express bot wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 2:15 pm I am finding it increasingly uncomfortable at home games to stay warm in this weather , someone gave me some hand warmers to try. I feel the cold a lot, especially in my legs, so in the cold weather I wear my pyjama bottoms under my trousers.
I also wear 3 lots of jumpers over my shirt plus a jacket when I go outside.

I empathise-ever since I started on daily aspirin.
Columbia make base-layers that are stunning, particularly those that have a quasi metal mesh woven in.
Otherwise, the key is long socks and a long coat.

From my experience last Saturday, just sit near the aisle in the West Stand and you'll be forever jumping to your f*cking feet as the people on your row go back and forth between their seats and the bar/bogs. I certainly gets the circulation going I can tell ye. I was sweating cobs by the end of the match.

Yes your not wrong I sit on the end too,up and down and they always manage to stand in front of you when we’re attacking, can’t understand people coming in 5/10 minutes after the game has started just to get that extra pint, still keeps the circulation goingStillSpike wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 6:08 pm From my experience last Saturday, just sit near the aisle in the West Stand and you'll be forever jumping to your f*cking feet as the people on your row go back and forth between their seats and the bar/bogs. Long Johns, a thermal vest and an Orient Bobble hat are must haves.
My old Dad used to always take a newspaper ( remember them ) in with him, and would fold it and put it under his feet, which insulated them from the cold concrete.
