Wellens sends Harrold to do post match interview
Not a good look sending one of your coaches out to do the post match when you’ve just been belted 0-3 at home.
I got absolutely slaughtered on here back in September when I said that there’s a chance Wellens will be gone by Christmas. Even after repeatedly and explicitly saying it wasn’t what I necessarily wanted to happen. Too many people let emotions get the better of them and went in with the personal attacks on me rather than thinking about why I said it in the first place.
It’s starting to look a bit more realistic now.

Would you want to talk to Dave Victor after that? The Reverend wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 5:56 pm Not a good look sending one of your coaches out to do the post match when you’ve just been belted 0-3 at home.

If I’m the manager of a football club, and therefore ultimately responsible for that pile of doggy do served up on the pitch, then out of a sense of respect and duty I’d do the interview regardless of if I felt like it or not.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 6:01 pmWould you want to talk to Dave Victor after that? The Reverend wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 5:56 pm Not a good look sending one of your coaches out to do the post match when you’ve just been belted 0-3 at home.

Re: Wellens sends Harrold to do post match interview
He's a really emotional bloke and it works against him when things aren't going as well, doesn't emit calm or confidence to fans nor players. Even if you take the pre existing commitment comment at face value, a no show puts an even worse spin on that performance.

He’s had a bellend fan have a go at him during the game. He owes us nothing. The Reverend wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 6:04 pmIf I’m the manager of a football club, and therefore ultimately responsible for that pile of doggy do served up on the pitch, then out of a sense of respect and duty I’d do the interview regardless of if I felt like it or not.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 6:01 pmWould you want to talk to Dave Victor after that? The Reverend wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 5:56 pm Not a good look sending one of your coaches out to do the post match when you’ve just been belted 0-3 at home.

Re: Wellens sends Harrold to do post match interview
If it was agreed pre match that he couldn’t
make the post match interview as he has
a pre arranged family commitment..
I’d say that was very fair he pulled no punches
on last week’s performance and Matt Harold
gave a very good assessment that things ain’t
going well, but we’ve generally had a brilliant
2 years under RW and long may it continue..

Re: Wellens sends Harrold to do post match interview
If I were Wellens I’d be more worried about the fact that my DoF is hiring staff such as “set piece” coaches that I have no need for, completely undermines my position, isn’t accountable and is rubbish at the job, than some clown whose had a few too many shandies shouting at me.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 6:16 pmHe’s had a bellend fan have a go at him during the game. And did the dof give him the choice of player A B or C? Well Richie take it or leave it?The Reverend wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 6:27 pmIf I were Wellens I’d be more worried about the fact that my DoF is hiring staff such as “set piece” coaches that I have no need for, completely undermines my position, isn’t accountable and is rubbish at the job, than some clown whose had a few too many shandies shouting at me.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 6:16 pmHe’s had a bellend fan have a go at him during the game. It wouldn't surprise me if he went and I don't think it would be the end of the world if he went. The Reverend wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 5:56 pm Not a good look sending one of your coaches out to do the post match when you’ve just been belted 0-3 at home.

Re: Wellens sends Harrold to do post match interview
Yeah, someone else posted in another thread. He was having a go at them for a few mins. Someone flicked his hat on the pitch when they were walking away and that’s what sparked the scuffleRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 6:49 pmIs that what lead to two supporters fighting at pitch side right in front of me . Re: Wellens sends Harrold to do post match interview
You and me both but I said at the end of the season, I left 20 minutes before the end, apart from the offside goal that was disallowed we had nothing to offer. The confidence is nearly gone and the fact that Wellens is trying everything shows we are in trouble. Keep switching Theo in different positions every game, giving James the arm band and playing Pigot and Ruel together isn’t working. Get rid of Cooper, no point if he’s getting red carded every 5 games. Wellens is trying but if at the end of the day you haven’t got enough quality in the right positions needed your in troubleThe Reverend wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 5:56 pm Not a good look sending one of your coaches out to do the post match when you’ve just been belted 0-3 at home.

Dave did say right at the start of the interview that it was agreed beforehandThe Reverend wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 5:56 pm Not a good look sending one of your coaches out to do the post match when you’ve just been belted 0-3 at home.
