Beckles is going nowhere however I can see Moncur going . Richie likes Drinan so I'm not sure about him .Top of the JES wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 7:44 pm I can see Moncur, Beckles and when fit Drinan going out on loan in January to free up some Money and get some games, Defensively we haven’t been too bad but losing Graham was a real blow I would bring in a winger and a striker.

Re: Give RW the funds
Apart from stints at Southampton and Reading (who were both in the Championship/Premiership at the time) 10 years ago Sharp has played the entirety of his career in the north. Yes, he recently had what I imagine was a nice retirement payday in the USA, but I cannot see why he would be interested in moving down south to play for a mid table L1 club. I doubt we could afford him anyway.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 7:52 pmBilly Sharp has been mentioned on here before . It's an interesting idea but I don't know . Shift how ?gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 6:27 pmGet Ling to earn his (extremely large) wage at shifting Moncur, Thompson and Sweeney to League 2 clubs to free up money for wages. I'd cash in on Sotiriou and Happe too as both could attract a fee and can go for free in summer, calculated gamble but money is money. Drinan would've been on the list too but now he's injured I think no chance of moving on now.
Also fire the Set Piece Coach who should never have been appointed in the first place.
Moncur Sweeney & Thompson can all say,
I'm stayin till my contracts done. The only way to clear them out is paying up Contracts.
Moncur 18 months Sweeney the same, Thompson wont be renewed. Happe won't do anything for the O's that threatens any move that benefits him.
Ruel you say who wants him ?

Can you show your workings here? If you're a Reading or Fleetwood fan, having a chairman talk about what the budget is on a podcast would feel like a godsend compared to having the person in charge jailed or completely absent.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 10:22 amI know we’re not, but the owners are the only ones in the league talking about FFP.Joe315 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 7:19 amWe aren't struggling with FFPBiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 6:42 pm

Your only answer to everything is to put in more money. Keep on doing that and clubs get into serious trouble and you will still be blaming the same people if that happens.

Indeed they can, though for Thompson it's about fixing himself up with a move for summer as it clearly won't be with us. Before hamstrings struck again would've said same for Drinan.Joe315 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 7:16 amShift how ?gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 6:27 pmGet Ling to earn his (extremely large) wage at shifting Moncur, Thompson and Sweeney to League 2 clubs to free up money for wages. Sweeney might be open to a move to get game time and kick on as he's 3rd choice here at best.
Moncur is a difficult one, long contract and penny for this thoughts around why his fitness is proving such an issue. Again not sure how bothered / not he is by being benched, could be of interest for a higher L2 side though would likely be limited to local moves so... Gillingham
Sotiriou would be a worthwhile punt for the likes of Peterborough who have the luxury to put players in development for a while. Pocket change for them, vital funds for us.
Happe may well have something lined up, not sure how that January clause works will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Sweeney will still be paid by us if he's farmed out on loan to a lower league club .
Moncur isn't going to Gillingham & why would
they take him ? No connection at all .
Just because Posh punted on Hector they won't be chancing anything on Ruel.
Happe 6 months before end of contract he can talk to who he wants & do what he wants really .
All we've done is provide Thompson wage then .
What else can we do have a go fund me ?

We cannot coast along as we have been, must take the bull by the horns and take stock otherwise it is the slippery slope. I am sure RW realises this but he must focus on his own discipline if he wants the team to listen to him and focus on the task in hand.

Re: Give RW the funds
I think Teams can spend more than their budget if the money comes as a gift to the club from a director or outside source. I suspect clubs like clubs like Gillingham or Salford have done this in the past. If we need to spend more than the budget to keep us in L 1 this is one way of achieving this. The problem is who is going to be the providerTop of the JES wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 7:15 pm So whose fault is it that we have had to spend our wage budget up front because of loads of injuries in August? Re: Give RW the funds
Hi Red, yes you have a good point, many opinions on here point out different things that are going wrong at the moment, imo it’s not just down to one thing. A football club is a bit like a clock, if one of the cogs ain’t turning, then the whole watch stops, hows that for an analogy? it’s down to Richie to sort that out and that’s what he gets paid for and as for the finances that’s obviously down to the board. Personally I wouldn’t hold your breath as far as spending money is concerned we are not a rich clubRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 7:58 amUnless we can bring in the right player or two next month I’m not so sure .
