I didn’t think they were decent at all. Big centre back and a half decent midfielder. Right back was ok. We would have killed them last season.Highwood Man wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 10:23 am For me, the most depressing thing about yesterday was that we were away to a non-league side (albeit a very decent one) and yet I didn't really expect us to win. But I did expect us to put in a decent performance, which we didn't.'

Re: Pathetic
More than once RW said yesterday that new players had to be brought in come January and, how poor we were yesterday. Has to be said but it's difficult to see how that can be encouraging, motivating and morale lifting for our current squad. Injuries and inexperience have been a big factor for us, having to chop and change formations etc, but the performances of even our experienced players eg Idris have been below their high standards. The dressing room seems flat and RW is struggling to motivate and get something out of this squad. Confidence is rock bottom and clearly, the chances that are being created and put away on the practice pitch are not being realised on match days. We were in the doldrums when RW arrived - a decent squad that was underachieving and low on confidence - he was new then; can he do it again?

El Miz is not experienced. He's had one season of L2 football. This is his first season playing consistently at L1 level.
We do not have experience in the current first choice XI, this is our issue.

A lot can be tolerated but not lack of motivation aplication and effort,it's the least any set of supporters expect and deserve, all players should respond to this, everything is just an extension of this.

Its been a year since we put 3 past Bradford (and should have been more) at home.Joe315 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 8:03 amYeah, Ignoring the League 2 Title its been shocking. Since then the Os have struggled to score.
Stating the bleedin' obvious doesn't negate my support for the club or my apprecation for us winning the league last season,
I'd love to see us go for it a bit more because RW is starting to coming across like a Poundland Gareth Southgate with this sideways possession football and lack of killer instinct

since beating Bradford City 3-0 . On 03-12 2022
We topped the table with 48 points.
So 43 & the current 22 is 65 points
Enough to put us in a play off position minimum

As stated before I am not complaining about our results, rather that we have become increasingly constipated in the realm of goal-scoring.
Even last season we barely scored a headed goal. Our output from set pieces is well recorded on this MB. For a time we seemed to get by on worldies. I would just like to see us go for it more - throw caution to the wind and become more free-scoring. Because the style of football has become quite dire to watch.

45 in total in a League above.

Re: Pathetic
The players knew how important it was for the club to have a cup run, they knew hundreds of fans made the long trip up north and the best they could come up with was one shot on target. That is worse than pathetic !
