Drinan out 6-8 weeks
RW said Drinan out 6-8 weeks
We do no seem to be having a lot of injuries this season.
Drinan may not be banging them in for fun, but I like the way he never gives up & harries defenders.
Going to leave us tight up front. We can’t rush Agyei back, just hope we don’t get any more injuries to our attacking players.
Going to need a few in the door in January, Lingy & his coffee machine will be working overtime!
Good news is TJ may be ok for Sunday.

Re: Drinan out 6-8 weeks
That's a shame. How on earth are we going to replace him?
Who's going to score all those goals now?
Who's going to take 2 defenders with him, leaving the other players not marked so closely.
What a terrible loss this is for our team

Hamstrings made of cheese. Barley made it to a sprint when they went. Can see it limiting it ending his career unless surgery is an option

Blimey, you've changed your tune about him. At last you are able to see some qualities in the player.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 8:21 pm That's a shame. How on earth are we going to replace him?

What sort of cheese? Mozzarella is quite malleable without tearing and probably not too bad for a hamstring whereas parmesan would crumble and break really easily. More context needed here.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 9:37 pm Hamstrings made of cheese. Barley made it to a sprint when they went. Guy gives 100% every time he is out there and has just got another bad injury. All you can think to add is a snide post slagging him off.
We get you don’t rate him. But sometimes it is better to say nothing than add another stone to the mountain of online negativity.
I really don’t envy footballers sometimes.

Re: Drinan out 6-8 weeks
Unfortunately from Aarons point of view it could see him released at the end of the season . Works hard but now seems a bit too injury prone .gshaw wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 11:14 pmWas my first thought too reading this thread, this is what third maybe fourth time in 2 seasons?Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 9:37 pm Hamstrings made of cheese. Re: Drinan out 6-8 weeks
Drinan’s 100% is laughable, he might run around and cover a lot of space but he is not banging in goals as he is not capable in League 1.Time to get rid of the dead wood and bring in players that are capable and not injury prone in League1 and above, the January transfer window is only a short way away.leebmx wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 11:47 pmWhat a pointlessly negative post.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 8:21 pm That's a shame. Re: Drinan out 6-8 weeks
Nobody in there right mind wants to see a player injured especially one of ours, I’m certainly not his biggest fan but I wish him well, however the simple truth is he was brought in as a striker to score goals and he doesn’t,fact. I think maybe the NL beacons unfortunately he may have better luck there?

A real shame for him and us.
As others have alluded, going to be difficult to fix himself up with his next contract when he’s always injured.

Re: Drinan out 6-8 weeks
All I can say is I hope the club has already identified the player or player’s they want in January and as soon as the transfer window opens steam in and sign them . No holding back nonsense like we normally seem to do. I would imagine they would be on loan which is good enough. We just need that bit of help to get us over our injury problems and then we can assess the squad again in the Summer.PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 7:09 amDrinan’s 100% is laughable, he might run around and cover a lot of space but he is not banging in goals as he is not capable in League 1.Time to get rid of the dead wood and bring in players that are capable and not injury prone in League1 and above, the January transfer window is only a short way away.leebmx wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 11:47 pmWhat a pointlessly negative post.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 8:21 pm That's a shame. The one that lost 1-0 to charlton, 2-0 to Plymouth 4-0 to Pompey & drew 0-0 at Blackpool ? only 2 goals v wycombe in our 3-2 defeat all of which Drinan Was not part of.

Drinan is here until May, nobody will touch him until he is fit , which wont be until February. Who & how are you getting rid of contracted dead wood ?PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 7:09 amDrinan’s 100% is laughable, he might run around and cover a lot of space but he is not banging in goals as he is not capable in League 1.Time to get rid of the dead wood and bring in players that are capable and not injury prone in League1 and above, the January transfer window is only a short way away.leebmx wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 11:47 pmWhat a pointlessly negative post.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 8:21 pm That's a shame. Re: Drinan out 6-8 weeks
Worth remembering that Aaron wasn’t supposed to be in our starting 11 this season. Piggot and Agyei are the first choices where the money has been spent.
If Aaron is released, we’ll only be bringing in a cheap reserve to replace him. We’re not going to be bringing in a 20 goal a season first choice starter.

Re: Drinan out 6-8 weeks
Being a little bit more serious for a moment, it disturbs me that RW, whom i never stop praising, rates Drinan !!!!!!
Maybe this public praise is his way of trying to boost Drinans confidence, because I cant believe a man like RW, with such football knowledge, really does rate Drinan.
I remember when we bought Drinan from Ipswich, several Twitter posts from Ipswich fans laughing at us, & I believe we paid a fee for him too
His hamstrings constantly 'go', and it will eventually end his career as a pro footballer.
It seems common sense that as he is a) injury prone, b) in his final year of contract, and c) rubbish , he will be let go, in 5 months time, but I have a slight nagging feeling that if RW really likes him, he might get another year. God, i hope not
