If you think that “will get on that this evening” means “I already saw this” then you are seriously mistaken

Sorry, I thought that was an earlier post.
I will be interested in what you think of it though.

Speaking of Daisy Haggard, I've just started Breeders S4 which crept in under the radar. Quite an interesting start to the series

I researched her family on wiki and she comes from a line of noted actors one an uncle who tragically shot himself over a broken romance at a very young age.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 10:27 am Speaking of Daisy Haggard, I've just started Breeders S4 which crept in under the radar. Binged watched 4 episodes yesterday, it's really good. Daisy Haggard is always worth watching. Even has that BritFlick icon Craig Fairbass doing what he does.

Anyone else going to watch Napoleon? I see that the history crowd are outraged with Ridley Scott's disregard for factual accuracy, but I don't care and will simply accept the film as fact and enjoy it all the more.

Napoleon
FFS, Ridley.
What a mess of a film. Some okay bits, but this really should have been so much better. A wasted opportunity which, I'm disappointed to say, isn't worth your time or money at the cinema.
Sure, watching on a smaller screen at home will mean not experiencing some of the more cinematic moments, but IMO they simply are not good enough to justify the effort.

Re: What are you Watching Today Part 2
This year was special as, despite the state of cinema, we were to get three big films; Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon and Napoleon. These are big 'moment' films, made by renowned directors and staring big name actors. We don't get enough of these anymore, so to get three in one year was special.
Out of those three, I rate KOTFM as the best. But the real winner, in my opinion, is Barbie. That's this film where, upon leaving the cinema, I felt I'd been the most entertained.

So Grace Dent has left the jungle, presumably because she's haunted?

She looked really rough after a few days in there. Maybe it was something she ate?Long slender neck wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2023 11:09 am So Grace Dent has left the jungle, presumably because she's haunted?

Re: What are you Watching Today Part 2
Severance on Apple TV - This is BRILLIANT! It has to be one of the most engaging, thought-provoking, unnerving, well written, well acted, and brilliantly filmed pieces of television I've watched in years.
Each episode unwraps a layer and draws you deeper in to this surreal and disturbing workplace thriller. And each of the characters are clearly developed and memorable. It's just nine episodes, and I still have two more to go, but I'm calling this as my favourite show of the year (despite it coming out in 2022).

Re: What are you Watching Today Part 2
Easily the best thing I’ve seen in about ten years. Think I was banging on about it here at some point. Hopefully season two comes along soon and I can blag another free trialDunners wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 9:31 am Severance on Apple TV - This is BRILLIANT! Yep, it's still in production but no news on a release date yet.
I'm still reeling over just how bloody good this show is. This scene in particular was a work of art.

And Mr. Milchick and Dylan George are already two of my favourite TV characters.

Big question is, what are they doing with those numbers? And what do Lumon industries actually do?

Re: What are you Watching Today Part 2
Probably be a let down like lots of similar shows but the final episode was the most captivating tv I think I’ve ever watched. Like I could feel it having a physical effect on me

Re: What are you Watching Today Part 2
It’s so good, I loved every minute. And genuinely thought provoking.
SPOILERS BELOW
It’s all very understated until the story develops, but the idea of your self outside of work essentially cutting your working self adrift, condemning him/her to a lifetime of never ending servitude is one of the best dystopian ideas I’ve ever come across. There’s a level of inhumanity there that’s almost perfect
