also the son-in-law of a former Rovers director. And said to be a thoroughly nice chap, which probably disqualifies him from being a success in football management

A fella at work said fans were calling for his head last night. They just got it.

Stoke manager gone too, odd club, very solid foundation, good owners, always appoint what seems good managers even paying compensation but it never seems to quite work

Bottom of the League, in freefall, let’s appoint a rookie manager. Genius.

Re: Manager Merry Go Round
Does seem a bold move. (Hopefully) not something we have to pay too much attention to any more, but Salford, FGR and Sutton being in the bottom 4 of L2 is quite satisfying, be great if 2 of them went down and were replaced by proper clubs.

Salford really have gone through the managers in the last few years but it doesn't seem to have done them much good!

Now 8 defeats in 13, down to 19th. Working out great.Scuba Diver wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 12:26 pmNow 18th, after 4 defeats in 5 since Rooney took over. It was a bad decision by Birmingham to sack Eustace in favour of hiring Rooney . It already looks like that decision is backfiring .
Rooney now blaming fitness levels. The fitness levels that took the club to 6th, I presume he means.
Eustace must be smiling to himself and no doubt

The Money tree at Salford seems to have withered. Interesting to see what happens come January and whether they can buy their way out of their situation. In the low times at Orient I remember how we were promoted with Salford. Reminds me of 1962 when we were promoted to Div 1 - with Liverpool!

Re: Manager Merry Go Round
It seems the owners at Salford have lost interest in their vanity project, and I predict within 5 years, Salford will be a non League team again, and Gary Neville and co, will be long gonecymruO wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 10:56 am The Money tree at Salford seems to have withered. Re: Manager Merry Go Round
A 3-0 home defeat yesterday for Salford against Grimsby and that was Grimsby's first away win of the season. Unless the new manager can get them going, they could be back playing non-league football in a lot less than 5 years.
