Massive loss, that last minute equaliser where he turns the defender inside out showed his class. I hope it heals up better than when Cox did a similar injury as the latter was never the same player after.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 2:44 pmJordan confirmed on social media he is out until next season, whether that is the start of next season (lets hope) or a few weeks/months in we don't know but I would think it was an ACL by the severity. Really bad luck as he was starting to show the player he is. It's a big loss for him and the club.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 2:22 pm Talking about injuries, is there any update on Jordan Graham’s injury. Was it his ACL ? I’m hoping it’s not as bad as that but obviously he’ll be out for months regardless.

Yes agree fully on your comment about Cox e.g '' I hope it heals up better than when Cox did a similar injury as the latter was never the same player after'' Craig Clay also suffered the ACL injury but came back much the same player but that after a long time out. When I did my own ACL in big time in around 1970, there were no good operations around. All my football finished in one fool hardy tackle !gshaw wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 6:35 pmMassive loss, that last minute equaliser where he turns the defender inside out showed his class. And thinking about it Happe came back from a bad knee injury so fingers crossed for Graham, he's been a really positive influence since coming to the club.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 7:35 amYes agree fully on your comment about Cox e.g '' I hope it heals up better than when Cox did a similar injury as the latter was never the same player after'' Craig Clay also suffered the ACL injury but came back much the same player but that after a long time out. Yes thankfully so far, Happe seems to have done well since recovering from his knee injury, but bear in mind his injury was some sort of I think ligament damage that was not an injury to his ACLgshaw wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 6:33 pmAnd thinking about it Happe came back from a bad knee injury so fingers crossed for Graham, he's been a really positive influence since coming to the club.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 7:35 amYes agree fully on your comment about Cox e.g '' I hope it heals up better than when Cox did a similar injury as the latter was never the same player after'' Craig Clay also suffered the ACL injury but came back much the same player but that after a long time out. ''An ACL injury is a tear or sprain of the anterior cruciate (KROO-she-ate) ligament (ACL) — one of the strong bands of tissue that help connect your thigh bone (femur) to your shinbone (tibia). ACL injuries most commonly occur during sports that involve sudden stops or changes in direction, jumping and landing — such as soccer, basketball, football and downhill skiing. Many people hear a pop or feel a "popping" sensation in the knee when an ACL injury occurs. Your knee may swell, feel unstable and become too painful to bear weight. Depending on the severity of your ACL injury, treatment may include rest and rehabilitation exercises to help you regain strength and stability, or surgery to replace the torn ligament followed by rehabilitation. A proper training program may help reduce the risk of an ACL injury.''

Re: We need to buy better
Been diagnosed as a ruptured patella tendon so while it’s good it’s not his ACL the injury he has is very serious
He had come back before and I back him to come back stronger, he has a great attitude.

Good article about this type of injury.Stan1972 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 9:48 pm 6 month minimum recovery time

I cannot remember what the knee injury was that Dan Happe incurred but Dan seems to have come back well, but it took quite a long time for him to get over that injury setback.

Re: We need to buy better
One thing that Moncur has brought to the squad is his desire and ability not to give the ball away to the opposition. I am sure his fellow squad members have leant from that. I would argue that this has had a positive impact as to how we play even when he is not in the team. Very valuable.gshaw wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 6:00 pm We needed to sort out an appalling midfield when RW arrived to be competitive in L2. Moncur played a part in that so job done to some extent. Would we expect more from him, yes, was he a disaster signing, absolutely not.
Upfront is where the management needs to be ruthless is upfront and quality there doesn't come cheap. Will mean moving on a few of the current squad to free up space.
One area that's a free hit is pre-season. Seemed poorly organised this summer leading to us playing against the wrong opposition on poor quality pitches. The season before same story with playing friendlies on 4G which caused injuries.

Dave Anchor, his butter than ever player my aunt Flora told me. He spreads the ball about everywhere. And looks good in a jacket
