If she's sitting as an independent she's not a Labour MP
Not that she's in any way relevant to this story.
Is relevant as singling out ‘wrong un Tories’. Plenty of ‘wrong uns Labour’ She was until jailed, had whip removed], hanging on by thread.
1, She received a sentence of 10 weeks imprisonment, suspended for two years at the Magistrates Court. This was overturned on appeal and she was given a 2-month community order of 80 hours unpaid work . Thus she was not jailed and does not even have a suspended sentence on her record.
2. She was convicted of Harassment, not threatening to throw acid at someone. Indeed Judge Taylor at the appeal hearing made a specific finding she did not threaten the victim with acid

If he's guilty I hope he gets nailed but is it *slightly* coincidental that this comes out after he was so vocal about accusing the Govt and opposition of being complicit in supporting alleged Israeli war crimes?
If this is tin foil hat stuff give me a slap and will shut up.
You do love a bout of ‘whataboutery’, even if it means throwing shade on Tory misdeeds.

Also, yes, actually raping someone is worse than threatening to do something to someone.
There isn’t actually a Schrödinger’s box where he currently both has and hasn’t committed rape, meaning that currently he can be judged as if he half did it. If he did what he is alleged to have done, then he’s a rapist.
Why are you comparing someone accused of something to someone convicted of something else?
Only highlighting fact that the Tory MP is still not charged yet other Labour ones have been convicted and yes rape is far more serious, as yet allegations. I accept specific details were partly erroneous. I was unaware she had amendments in her appeal but accept she has. Even so not becoming of a public servant ? Others public servants and like have been sacked for less. Standards have dropped across society, Police, Judiciary , Medical Profession, Teaching , everywhere. Why is this? What are the answers?

LCL getting confused between the concept of a “speaker” and a “dictator”
But if a postman did fraud, they'd get the sack so what does that say about Kier Starmer?
Then again if she whip removed and she became independent then has no jurisdiction over her and only Lindsay hoyel or Deputy Laing can or possibly the Sergeant in Arms. If a postman or other public servant committed fraud you are right would get sack but MPs seem above the law like that MP who got wife to take speeding points (SDP) John Stonehouse, ‘ Sword of Truth ‘ now reverend Jonathan Aitkins, all the expenses fraudsters, mainly Labour who got jailed for fraud. I think Margaret Moran got half a million but escaped jail .
How does the MP who tried to get his wife to take the speeding points show that MPs are above the law? Surely it shows that MPs don’t always respect the law and try to get away with crimes.
That’s different from being above the law, which would mean no consequences for transgressions
Chris Huhne it was and his wife Vicky Price who reinvented herself as an expert on money matters. I suppose avoid paying fines save chunks of dosh. I found Chis Huhme a bit slimy as he was pompous and arrogant in interviews. He would have had to sign a declaration on the speeding form to declare it was true with a warning of consequences if he was telling fibs.
Some do think they are above the Law. Staying with Libs , look at Jeremy Thorpe and what he got up to!
Exactly like when Geoffrey Archer who was made a Knight! wrote all the books but then went to prison and there was the Profumo Affair when something else happened so some MPs like to have sex with people they are not married to, what does this say about society? This shows that the SNP are just as bad as everyone else and Sturgeon could never be trusted to hold another referendum on Scotland's right to become an Independent Sovereign State with its own army and lots of oil. Makes you think.
That’s not being sacked though, is it?
The point is that there is no sense in which a political party is turning a blind eye to an MP’s transgressions (as was claimed) when the MP in question is an independent, and furthermore is an independent *because* her party took action against her for her transgressions

Spot on. I forgot about Sturgeon , her husband and the mystery of the low mileage motor home parked on the mother in laws drive. For comparatively small paries, the SNP and Lib Dem’s seem to have a disproportionate amount of scandals.
