If Orient were to relocate, where exactly would they go?
I ask this for a couple of reasons.
1. Land in and around Leyton will be eye wateringly expensive
2. If Orient were to move out of London (Essex) then they would lose a lot of the recent newcomers
I just don’t see Orient moving ground as a sensible option, regardless of how badly Hearn stitched the club up.
Which ever way you look at it we would need enormous financial backing probably beyond what Travis and Teague would want to invest.
So it's back to selling a Bonne per year to cover the rent costs for the foreseeable future then![]()

Re: **Questions For Nigel & Dave Travis**
The rent cost has been factored into their budgets from day one.
I don’t get why you’re trying to single this item out from all the other costs that contribute to our annual loss?

Because it's the one thing we shouldn't be paying in the first place and discussion is about the future of the ground as per another poster's question above.CreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 9:59 pm The rent cost has been factored into their budgets from day one.

Try and dress up the budgets via whatever semantics you like but if we were free of Hearn that's £200k per year that can go into staffing, players, academy etc. Shame it means we'd need to start from scratch again with a ground that'd cost in the millions. Royally shafted by the Hearn family.

No, you're making stuff up now to support your weak argument. Teague has already said that transfer fees go towards the playing budgets, so selling players does not "cover the rent costs for the foreseeable future"gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 9:54 pmWhat's not the case? Interesting, with the restrictions on ground development die to the flats and the cost to get enough of it back to bring some revenue streams in it doesn't seem feasible.

Re: **Questions For Nigel & Dave Travis**
Is that the case? I suspect the discussions over the lease when the East Stand problems arose may have changed that position. Does Bazza still turn up? You would have thought he'd make appearances at the end of last season but if he did, I missed them.UpminsterO wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 10:23 am
They get on well with Hearn and I am sure if there was any lease / ownership realignment possible they would at the appropriate time discuss that.
It's a real shame that Nigel wasn't in a position back in 1995 to take over the club.

You say that but the ground is still only worth the £6m Barry paid for it.

Re: **Questions For Nigel & Dave Travis**
Really good podcast by the Outlook boys.
Re the ground - Travis alluded to looking at buying it back in the long term, he also stated that the new Investor they are bringing on board could easily buy the club outright (former Pepsi man). The good thing for me is that Teague and Travis are realistic about what they can do with the resource they have but it's not just about them pumping in money they both have fantastic contacts which will help going forward.
Orient expect to lose £1million this season but hope to be break even in the next few seasons. In all the time I have supported the O's I don't think I have ever seen such an active commercial department If we could get to league one that would be very realistic.

Break even, League 1, London based club, mega wealthy Americans you say. Bet the current owner(s) could make a buck or two from a sale at that point in time.Top of the West. wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2019 1:54 pm Really good podcast by the Outlook boys.

Doubt it with the money they have put in so far, more so as we don't have many material assets other than the players contracts.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2019 1:59 pmBreak even, League 1, London based club, mega wealthy Americans you say.
