Re: Israel
Arabs and Jews have always been at loggerheads. Palestine has had a series of rulers, the Ottomans until Imperialistic GB kicked then out in WW1. That led to the creation of israel under the aspices of League of Nations. 21% of Israelis are Arabs. It doesnt help that Israel has expanded into areas
It captured during war, but is that different to any other country. If the arabs stopped this stupid attitude of wanting to destroy Israel, the Palestians would have a great life, loads of money would be chucked at them, Gaza could become a tourist area, Lebanon would be developed more. But no, a few want to be big dicks. Perhaps someone can tell me just what was in Israel before Israel. Was it a highly developed area or just sand

I did say ‘in peaceful times’ and these are not so. The only thing in tatters is your concentration.
They shop in Palestinian businesses and visa versa.

This response is true evil. Almost 2000 dead, most had nothing to do with the happenings last Saturday. Genocide

Germany were our enemy , War was declared, we bombed them and they us, Hitler indiscriminately exterminated classes of his own nation. Your Grannie was an innocent victim. Had Hitler succeeded and invaded, he would have set up concentration camps here and carried on with mass extermination of those he considered ‘undesirable’.

Only going by TV reports but I’m guessing he might mean because they were being used as human shields. Apparently according to somebody on social media who lives near Gaza said Hamas leaders are hiding under a hospital.

No, that's not what I said or implied. I was attempting to ask a genuine question.

I don't think Israel will stop until they have wiped both Gaza and the West Bank from the map, all with the support of the the UK, US and other European nations

Re: Israel
You asked if I was suggesting something. Others on here have stated Israel would be targeting Hamas. 60 % of those killed were women & Children. I Just quoted figures & asked a question.

Re: Israel
You did. You quoted civilian casualties followed by questioning if Hamas were the targets. Which is fair enough. I've seen suggestive questions similar to this elsewhere, so was curious as to what possible implications are behind such a comment. I'm genuinely not trying to call anyone out here.
For instance, here are two possible interpretations:
1 - Israel IS targeting Hamas, but the civilian casualties are collateral (I'm not seeking to defend this, BTW)
2 - Israel is bombing civilian areas in the hope that Hamas militants get caught too.
Which of the above do you believe to be the case?

Re: Israel
I havent a clue what Israels thinking is, however UNHRC has condemed Israel numerous times. 45.9 % of all UNHRC condemnations since its formation in 2006 have been issued to Israel. I'm off to work now & then watching the game.Dunners wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 9:31 amYou did. You quoted civilian casualties followed by questioning if Hamas were the targets. Which is fair enough. Why do you think the purpose of the bombing is still to do with seeking out Hamas?Dunners wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 9:31 amYou did. So Max after all your pontifications:- What is your solution? Don't tell us what's wrong, we know that. How is the situation resolved? Also were we British at fault bombing the Germans? What are your thoughts of the morality of that War?

I hardly think a war against a fascist power and their allies is a helpful comparison. What is happening in Israel is a state terrorising a civilian population and bringing the racist ideology of Zionism to its logical conclusion.
I do have moral issues with the bombing of civilians in WW2 when the primary purpose is to terrorise civilians (eg Dresden) and not to target military installations or war industry factories/support services etc.

For what it's worth, I think Israel may be walking into an Islamist trap, and will destabilise the region and western cities for years to come.
